The renowned boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, has opened up about Campbell Hatton’s recent defeat. The event took place on Saturday at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. At this event, Campbell tried to avenge a previous loss to James Flint. This match was part of the card for Jack Catterall against Regis Prograis.
Unfortunately, the son of legendary boxer Ricky Hatton was unable to secure the rematch. Flint won by unanimous decision in this fight. The judges scored the bout 97-94, 96-94, and 96-95, all in favor of Flint. The decision was a tough blow for Campbell, who hoped to turn around the previous result.
Eddie Hearn reflected on Campbell Hatton’s career, admitting that he is a young boxer. However, he suggested that Hatton should reconsider his future in the sport. “I think it’s difficult because he’s very young,” Hearn said. “If he were 29 or 30, you might say that’s the end of the line.”
The promoter emphasized the importance of enjoying what one does in boxing. “I think Campbell Hatton’s current level is area or English title level,” he added. Hearn stressed that there is no shame in reaching those levels. However, he indicated that his team usually does not promote boxers at the area title level after consecutive losses.
Eddie Hearn also defended Hatton, describing him as a different case. “One, because he’s a really good kid; two, because he works his socks off,” Hearn stated. “Three, because he’s given us back-to-back brilliant fights, and he’s still young.” Hearn suggested that Campbell needs to ask himself if he is satisfied with his current level.
It’s worth noting that if Campbell is happy, Hearn encouraged him to continue in the sport. “Maybe that means getting a couple of fights on smaller shows,” he suggested. “Without the pressure of… I mean, tonight he ended up as co-main event again in front of around 8,000 people; it’s not easy.”Eddie Hearn also addressed the perception of the fight.
“A lot of people thought he won the fight,” Hearn commented. “I went into the changing room after, and I said to Ricky Hatton — Ricky thought Campbell edged the fight.” However, Hearn felt that, in his opinion, Campbell lost 6-4.
The promoter acknowledged that Campbell put on a great fight but that it wasn’t good enough. “He’s not really progressing,” Hearn said. “His performance wasn’t much better, in my opinion, than his last one.” Despite this, he reaffirmed that, since Campbell is young and enjoys boxing, he should continue.
On the other hand, Campbell’s father, the legendary former boxer Ricky Hatton,
“Another close one for the lad @campbellhatton last night,” Hatton began. “Everyone has their view. I thought he lost the first fight by the narrowest of margins.” He also expressed that he thought his son had won the second fight. “But one thing for certain is that they were both great close fights that could’ve probably gone either way.”
Hatton extended his congratulations to Jimmy Flint, acknowledging his talent and respect. “Congrats to @jimmyjoe_flint Great lad, respectful like I found his whole family. Best of luck to you, Jimmy.”
The message concluded with an emotional note of support for his son. “As for my son, chin up son, have a rest, have a think,” Ricky wrote. “Don’t think you’ll ever know how much I love you & how proud we all are of you.”
Hatton ended his message with a heartfelt sentiment: “No father could be more blessed & I feel proud that every day I get the chance to say to people that’s my boy. Love dad. xxx.”

After a tough defeat against British fighter Jack Catterall, American boxer Regis Prograis hinted that he might be nearing the end of his professional boxing career. The fight took place at Manchester’s Co-op Live, where Catterall won by unanimous decision with scorecards reading 116-109, 116-109, and 117-110.
Prograis had been seeking redemption after his previous loss to Devin Haney. However, his defeat against Catterall has led him to reconsider his future in the ring. “It might be time to go to bare knuckle (fighting),” the American commented after the fight. “12 rounds might be too much for me. I started fading in late rounds & I hurt my ankle.”
The intense and thrilling match saw both fighters hit the canvas at different moments, demonstrating the intensity with which they faced each other. Prograis acknowledged his rival’s superiority after the fight, stating: “Jack was just better, that’s all. Jack was the better man; I’m not going to lie. He deserves a world title fight. He definitely deserves a world title next. Good luck.”Regis Prograis praised Jack Catterall, describing him as one of the toughest opponents he’s faced:
“[He’s] really good. I’ve fought the best and [he was] the best out of all of them. I’ve had my time in the sun. Now it’s time for the young ones, [to] let the young guys take over,” Prograis concluded.
These statements suggest a possible end to Prograis’s career, as he has been regarded as one of the most exciting light welterweights in recent years. Prograis made his professional debut in 2012 and remained undefeated for seven years until his first loss to Josh Taylor in 2019. Despite the ups and downs, Prograis managed to regain his standing in the division and seemed on track for another shot at the world title.
However, his loss to Jack Catterall has drastically changed that outlook. If he decides to retire, Regis Prograis will leave a significant legacy in the division, remembered for his tenacity and skill in the ring.Major update in Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch“Where does tonight leave the ambition for you now?”

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed possible names for Jack Catterall’s next bout following his recent win over Regis Prograis. Catterall achieved an impressive unanimous decision victory in the first boxing event held at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, UK. The judges scored it 116-109 twice and 117-110, sealing Catterall’s triumph in the super lightweight division.
With this victory, Catterall, now holding a record of 30-1-0, has notched four consecutive wins since May 2023. During his winning streak, he has defeated high-profile opponents like Josh Taylor, Jorge Linares, and now Regis Prograis. This impressive series of victories makes him a solid contender for a world title shot, positioning him as a notable figure in the super lightweight division.
Among Catterall’s possible opponents is Australian fighter Liam Paro, who could be his next adversary. Paro, with an undefeated record of 25-0-0, currently holds the super lightweight title from the International Boxing Federation (IBF), a title he won by defeating Subriel Matías by unanimous decision after 12 rounds on June 15, 2024. Although Paro has yet to make an official title defense, he is expected to face his mandatory challenger, Richardson Hitchins, on December 7 in Puerto Rico.
Catterall’s recent victory over Prograis has sparked interest in his immediate future within the division. Eddie Hearn, who promotes both fighters, discussed potential matchups for Catterall against other prominent figures, mentioning possible opponents such as Teófimo López, Devin Haney, and Ryan Garcia.
“If I put him in with Teofimo Lopez. If I put him in with Devin Haney. If I put him in with Ryan Garcia. You know, all of those guys. I believe that he’s in 50/50 fights with every top name in the division. Another fighter that I think is massively underrated is Liam Paro, honestly,” Hearn stated.Artur Beterbiev set to vacate world title
In Eddie Hearn’s own words, a fight between Paro and Catterall shapes up as a high-quality matchup. “Paro against Catterall is a very, very good fight. And I think it would be very unwise to rule him out in any fight against any 140-pounder,” Eddie Hearn concluded.
With these potential names on the table, Jack Catterall is in a prime position to solidify his presence in the super lightweight division.El Gato is a problem for anyone in the 140lb division ⚔️ @EddieHearn@jack_catt93pic.twitter.com/ZXa8NAfjrl

After rising himself from the canvas, Jack Catterall delivered two knockdowns of his own to secure a wide points victory over Regis Prograis to commemorate the first boxing show to be held at the Co-op Live arena, in Manchester.
The judges ruled the fight 117-108 and 116-109 (X2) in Catterall’s favour, which now positions him in-line for a world title shot next.
The first four rounds were very cagey, both fighters were hesitant to throw and few meaningful shots were landed.
Prograis knocked Catterall down in the fifth round; however, this was more of a flash knockdown, and the man from Chorley was not hurt.
Knowing that he was potentially down on the scorecards, Catterall began to throw more combinational punches, edging the next few rounds.
It all changed in round nine when Catterall knocked ‘Rougarou’ down with a textbook left hand down the pipe.
Catterall then landed another left hand to knock his opponent down again, securing a huge 10-7 round.
As the fight seemingly was edging away from 35-year-old Prograis, he severely tired and lost all three of the final rounds.
2024 has proved to be a big year in Catterall’s career, after gaining revenge over Josh Taylor in May, this adds another big name to his CV, which surely now sets him up to finally win a world title.Major update in Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch
“I’m pleased, it was a big occasion for me, I knew I had to be on my game. (The knockdown) It felt like a slip and Jamie (his trainer) said we were starting to slip behind but I knew I couldn’t take too many gambles. I came back into it, scored the two knockdowns and progressed from there. Eddies the man, I want a world title next.”
For Prograis, it could be the end of his illustrious carreer.
After two defeats in his last three fights to Devin Haney and now Jack Catterall, while disappointed to lose, he was extremley complimentary of his opponent.
”Jack was the better man, he deserves a world title fight. Jack is probably the best I’ve fought. I had my time in the sun and it is now time to turn over to him.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed plans for Catterall to get his world title shot next.
”In the words of Sam Jones, right hand to God this man needs a world title shot next. We have Liam Paro fighting Richardson Hitchins, the winner of that fight will be put straight forward to fight Catterall next. I would love to also bring Teofimo Lopez to Manchester and give him a good a*** kicking.”
Whatever happens, it looks for all the world like Catterall’s next fight will be for a world title.
Just two weeks ago, Artur Beterbiev established himself in boxing glory by becoming the first undisputed light-heavyweight champion in the four-belt era.
Despite this, it looks like he will be forced to lose one of his belts.
He defeated fellow countryman, Dmitry Bivol in a controversial majority decision.
The fight was billed as the puncher versus the boxer but throughout the fight, we learnt that knockout artist Beterbiev is much more than a puncher and the man will all the skills, Bivol, is far more than just a boxer.
Yesterday we learnt that the pair are set to have a rematch in their next fight, as confirmed by Dmitry Bivol’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.
However, on the 17th of October, the IBF ordered Beterbiev to defend his world title against German Michael ‘Diesel’ Eifert (13-1).
Assuming the rematch takes place next, this will most likely force Beterbiev to vacate, unless a step-aside deal can be agreed with Eifert.
Whilst some sort of deal could be made, the chances are it won’t.
This is because the IBF historically have forced champions to vacate.
Most notably, Oleksandr Uysk was forced to vacate his IBF belt after defeating Tyson Fury.Update on Hamzah Sheeraz’s colossal shot at world honours
Therefore, it is likely that there will be a world title belt available in the light-heavyweight division.
Current mandatory challenger Eifert would likely fight next-in-line Australian Conor Wallace (14-1) for the vacant belt.
Former opponent of Beterbiev, Anthony Yarde could also be in for a shot at the vacant title.
However, it looks like he will be finally facing long-standing rival, Joshua Buatsi.
It’s disappointing for fans that just as we finally see an undisputed light-heavyweight fight for the first time since Roy Jones Jr versus Reggie Johnson in 1999, one of the belts is stripped away again.
This will also be the case for Dmitry Bivol, who will now not be able to recapture the titles that he lost.
Nevertheless, the opportunity to write the only wrong of his career so far should be a far greater motivator than any belt.
Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but it is now likely that, unlike the first fight between the two greats, the rematch will not feature all the belts in the division.
It has only been two weeks since Artur Beterbiev was crowned undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world after defeating Dmitry Bivol in an incredibly high-quality contest in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Instantaneously as soon as the fight ended, the entire boxing world called for a rematch to take place.
Now after much of the fallout, there is further news on whether this will become a reality.
Much of the talk before the fight was about whether knockout artist Beterbiev could walk down the skillful, slick, Bivol.
For the first few rounds, it seemed as if this was exactly how the fight was going to play out.
Beterbiev tried to walk his opponent down but Bivol’s superb footwork was seemingly allowing him to have great success picking his man apart.
The man who previously had a 100 per cent knockout ratio was growing in frustration and by the fourth round, he began to increase the pace, forcing Bivol to take a back foot.
This fight was plenty mental as well as physical and by round seven the IBO world champion rocked Beterbiev.
The momentum swung time and time again, but the IBF, WBC and WBO world champion performed better in the championship rounds.
For the first time, Artur Beterbiev had gone the full twelve rounds.
The judges scored the fight 115-113, 116-112 and 114-114 (draw) in Beterbiev’s favour, resulting in him becoming the first undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the four-belt era and handing Bivol the first loss of his career.Anthony Joshua is injured
Since the fight, Bivol’s team have filed a protest over the controversial 116-112 card.
Despite it being a very close fight, the majority of people had Bivol winning and thus have demanded a rematch.
However, on the 17th of October, Artur Beterbiev was ordered by the IBF to defend his world title against 13-1 German, Michael Eifert.
Not only that but Bivol himself has also been rumoured in potential interim fights against the likes of Callum Smith and Albert Ramirez.
However, yesterday Eddie Hearn speaking to Fight Hub TV said the rematch will be next.
”His Excellency has told us the rematch is on. We will wait for final confirmation.”
Therefore, this implies that despite talk of potential interim fights, these won’t be taking place and the rematch will be next.
This may imply that Beterbiev will have to vacate his IBF belt, resulting in the rematch no longer having all four belts up for grabs.
While this is disappointing for fans, especially Bivol, the opportunity to correct the only wrong in his career so far will serve as a much stronger motivator than any belt.
B
Tyson Fury suffered defeat for the first time in his career in May against Oleksandr Usyk.
Since then, there was no doubt that Fury would want the rematch next, but many have questioned what he has left.
This week, he has confirmed what his plans are for after the rematch.
Fury stepped through the ropes in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the bookie’s favorourite, hoping to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
‘The Gypsy King’ was not going to change for the Ukrainian, he started the fight showboating to the crowd, smiling at his opponent, he seemed to be in his perfect flow.
He then took control of the fight during the middle rounds, Usyk was struggling to get near the 6 foot 9 Brit.
Fitting with the occasion and excitement of this divsion, the fight completley changed in the ninth round.
Usyk is one of the best fighters in the world when it comes to the championship rounds, and this fight was no different.
Usyk’s output was extraordinary, he had seemed to have figured his opponent out, landing at will, Fury stumbling all over the ring forced the referee to call a standing count.
Fury did not properly recover until the final round, but this was deemed to be too late, the judges scored the fight 115-112, 114-113 and 114-113 (Fury) in Usyk’s favour.Turki Alalshikh’s mammoth impact continues
Since Usyk became undisputed world champion, he has had to vacate his IBF belt, which is now held by Daniel Dubois, who demolished Anthony Joshua just a few weeks ago.
Thus, the rematch will not be for all four belts.
Fury has stated this week that this does not concern him and has explained why he won’t target undisputed status if he wins the rematch.
Instead, speaking to Sky News, he has confirmed what his future plans are.
”I’d like to have a triology with Usyk,” he said.
”I would be the only heavyweight in history to have had three trilogies.”
After lots of talks in the past few weeks about whether we would finally see the all-British showdown against Anthony Joshua, this has brought some clarity to what could be next in ‘The Gypsy King’s’ career.
Of course, if Fury loses the rematch, then there will no triology and the ‘AJ’ fight will be demanded again.
There is still a lot to happen, but the highly anticipated rematch on December 21st promises to be another epic.
Self-proclaimed ‘The Face of Boxing’, WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis demands attention regardless of who he is fighting.
Since, yesterday’s news that the fight is in jeopardy due to venue problems, there has been a fresh update on when the fight could take place.
Despite world title fights falling through against Vasyl Lomachenko (IBF) and Shakur Stevenson (WBC), it was confirmed that on December 14th he would be fighting the current WBA super featherweight champion Lamont Roach at the Toyota Centre in Houston, TX.
‘Tank’ is coming off another stellar knockout victory against Frank Martin – increasing his knockout per cent ratio to 93.
His opponent, the man known as ‘The Reaper’ is in red-hot form too, in his last performance he TKO’d previously unbeaten Feargal McMcrory in the eighth round.
Perhaps most notably though, he defeated former ‘Tank’ opponent, Hector Luis Garcia, last November to claim his WBA title.
Yesterday, the fight was cast into doubt after Dan Rafael reported on his Twitter/X account that, due to venue issues, the fight may need to be rescheduled.
There have now been further reports of when this fight will take place.
According to BoxingScene, PBC is considering placing Davis-Roach on the proposed billing of the light heavyweight bout between David Benavidez and David Morrell on January 25th in Las Vegas.
Whilst the fight would no longer be a main event, it would be on a much bigger card and it would remove any fears that their proposed December 14th fight may undersell.Update provided on Mike Tyson knee injury ahead of Jake Paul showdown
It could be argued that the reason why this fight is not currently taking place is because of apathy from fans to want to see the fight.
Fans have been calling for ‘Tank’ to fight the likes of Shakur Stevenson, Vasyl Lomachenko and Edwin De Los Santos.
Moreover, whilst Tank is a big money fight for Roach, he had his ‘0’ taken from him in 2019 by Jamel Herring.
Therefore, it is likely that fans would much rather him seek revenge by taking this rematch.
The highly anticipated clash between the two light heavyweights in their primes, Benavidez and Morrell, has yet to be announced.
We do not have a clear understanding of when the Davis-Roach fight will take place, if at all.
‘Tank’ will always bring eyeballs to the sport but fans are becoming increasingly frustrated that he is not facing other prominent names in the division.𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐊 & 𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐙 𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑?

Following the official weigh-in for the highly anticipated fight between Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis, set for October 26, promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed new additions to Matchroom Boxing. In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Hearn
“We’ve signed 2 fighters this week which we’ll be announcing soon and another 2/3 before the end of the year.” Without revealing names, the promoter hinted that these are “former world champions and a couple of amateur standouts.”
The news sparked an immediate response on social media, with some fans speculating that one of these signings could be British boxer Josh Taylor. The 32-year-old fighter is currently a free agent with a record of 19 wins, 2 losses, and 0 draws. His last fight took place on May 25, 2024, in Leeds, UK, where he was defeated by Jack Catterall by unanimous decision after 12 rounds.
Another rumored signing could be British heavyweight Patrick Brown. After his elimination in the first round of the Olympics, Brown announced he would leave amateur sports to turn professional. Although some suggest he may also be one of Matchroom Boxing’s new signings, nothing is confirmed yet, and the official announcement is awaited.
Eddie Hearn, who has advanced the careers of numerous boxers on the international scene, expressed confidence in the value of these signings for the growth of Matchroom Boxing. The promoter highlighted the importance of strengthening the promotion’s roster with high-caliber fighters, especially with the addition of former champions and emerging talent from amateur boxing.
Anticipation is growing as fans debate who might be joining to Matchroom Boxing Promotions.
This Friday, Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis completed the official weigh-in in Manchester, England. The fight will take place on Saturday, October 26, at Manchester’s AO Arena. Originally scheduled for August 24, the fight was postponed due to an injury sustained by Catterall.
At the official weigh-in, both fighters, promoted by Matchroom Boxing, met the 140-pound limit without issue. Catterall registered an exact weight of 140 pounds, while Prograis came in at 139.7 pounds. Now, both boxers are ready to face off, each aiming to strengthen their records and their trajectories in the boxing world.
Jack Catterall, with 29 wins, one loss, and no draws, seeks to extend his winning streak following his recent victory over Josh Taylor. In their last match, Catterall defeated Taylor by unanimous decision after 12 intense rounds on May 25 of this year. Catterall has also expressed interest in facing Australian Liam Paro, who will defend his IBF super lightweight title against Richardson Hitchins on December 7 in Puerto Rico.
On the other hand, Regis Prograis enters the fight with a record of 29 wins, two losses, and no draws. In his most recent fight, held on December 9, 2023, in San Francisco, Prograis lost to Devin Haney. This unanimous decision loss after 12 rounds was a tough setback for the American, who now seeks redemption on British soil.
Despite his recent defeat, Prograis is confident about facing Catterall. According to Prograis, Catterall did not actually intend to face him, preferring instead to fight Teófimo López. Additionally, Prograis has downplayed Catterall’s record, noting that only Josh Taylor and Jorge Linares stand out on his list of opponents, but he questioned their conditions at the time they faced the Brit.Tyson Fury confirms training team for Oleksandr Usyk rematch

The Brazilian boxing world mourns the passing of José Adílson Rodrigues Dos Santos, better known as “Maguila,” who died at 66 in São Paulo on October 24, 2024. After suffering from multiple health complications, “Maguila” leaves behind a legacy that deeply marked the history of boxing in Brazil.
Over 17 years, “Maguila” maintained a remarkable professional career, with 85 fights, 77 wins, 68 of which were by knockout. This exceptional record allowed him to stand out as the Brazilian and South American heavyweight champion.
Additionally, “Maguila” was the first and only Brazilian to compete for a world title in this division, becoming a sports icon in his country. He also had memorable fights against names like Evander Holyfield and George Foreman. His passing was confirmed by his wife, Irani Pinheiro, in an interview with the “Record” channel.
José Adílson Rodrigues was born on June 12, 1958, in Aracaju, in a low-income family. From a young age, “Maguila” was inspired by boxing greats like Muhammad Ali and Éder Jofre, watching their fights on a neighbor’s television. At 14, he moved to São Paulo, where he survived by working in construction and faced serious financial difficulties.
His professional career began in 1979, debuting two years later in the “Forge of Champions” tournament, the most important boxing event in Brazil. In 1983, “Maguila” won his first national title by defeating Waldemar Paulino at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in São Paulo, establishing himself as Brazil’s top heavyweight. A year later, in 1984, he won the South American title by defeating Argentine Juan Antonio Figueroa in the first round, a title he held for a decade.
In 1985, “Maguila” suffered his first defeat against Argentine Daniel Falconi, who knocked him out in São Paulo. However, the following year, “Maguila” avenged his defeat and retired Falconi from boxing. In 1986, he won the WBC Americas title, and in 1996, the WBA and IBF Latin American titles. Although he did not win one of the major world titles, Maguila became the Brazilian heavyweight champion under the WBF in 1995 by defeating Johnny Nelson in Osasco. In 2000, after a final fight against Daniel Frank, “Maguila” retired from boxing. Though away from the ring, the impact of his career endured in Brazilian sports and popular culture.
In 2013, “Maguila” was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), also known as punch-drunk syndrome, a neurodegenerative disease that affects many former boxers. This diagnosis was preceded by symptoms of memory loss and confusion, which intensified over time. As the disease progressed, “Maguila” experienced episodes of aggression, prompting his wife to seek professional help.Sam Jones responds after Regis Prograis leaks his controversial fight prediction
In 2018, with his family’s consent, “Maguila” decided to donate his brain to scientific research after his death. This decision will allow researchers at the University of São Paulo to study the impact of repeated trauma on the brain and develop preventive measures for athletes in contact sports.
In recent years, “Maguila” lived at the Anjos de Deus Therapeutic Center in Itu, São Paulo, where he received specialized care and participated in physical therapy sessions.Morre um dos maiores boxeadores da história do Brasil! Recently, renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn
Conor Benn has faced challenges in his career since an incident in 2022. Prior to his fight against Chris Eubank Jr., an irregularity was detected in his doping test. This setback led to intense scrutiny of Benn and put his sporting future on hold. However, earlier this year, Benn managed to return to the ring and faced Peter Dobson, showing a solid performance. Nonetheless, Benn has made it clear that his aim is to participate in high-profile fights.
As for his next fight, Benn has been repeatedly linked to a potential matchup with Eubank Jr. The tension between the two fighters escalated after a recent face-off in Saudi Arabia, where they exchanged words in a tense encounter. This clash continues to build excitement and could materialize in the near future, driven by fan interest and his promoter’s support.Eddie Hearn spoke with Pro Boxing Fans about Benn’s situation and outlined the tentative timelines for his return.
“We’ll be finding out soon when Conor Benn will be ready to fight in the UK,” Hearn stated, showing optimism about the recovery of Benn’s career. Although he didn’t provide an exact date, Hearn mentioned that the fight could happen between December and March, indicating they are working to set a precise date.
Eddie Hearn underscores his commitment to reviving Benn’s career. The possibility of a bout against Chris Eubank Jr. in the UK could mark an important moment for the boxer, with Benn seeking to establish himself on the international stage and regain public trust.
After the recent press conference for the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, Fury has confirmed that his training team will remain unchanged. He emphasized that he will not make drastic changes to his strategy for the rematch against Usyk. The highly anticipated rematch between the two is scheduled for December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
Despite the split decision loss in May, where Usyk took the undisputed world title, Fury decided to keep his team, which includes head trainer SugarHill Steward, assistant Andy Lee, and his father, John Fury.
During the first fight, there were questions regarding the clarity of his corner’s instructions, and Andy Lee admitted that “there were probably too many voices.” Now, the dynamic in the corner is expected to be more controlled, avoiding distractions for Fury.
Promoter Frank Warren emphasized that Tyson Fury’s team “cannot get carried away by emotions” and highlighted the importance of calm in crucial moments of the fight. In an interview with Sky Sports, Warren noted, “Tyson is very sensible and knows boxing inside out. He knows what he has to do and will make sure it’s done.”
Warren also expressed understanding of the influence Fury’s father has in the corner, emphasizing that “emotions can take over” in critical situations, as happened in the ninth round of the first fight when Fury took a hard hit. However, Warren cautioned that this time, “that corner cannot be emotional; it has to be calm.”
Andy Lee also acknowledged the criticism the team received after the May loss and assured that the team has learned from it. “When you lose, you’re open to criticism. If we had won the fight, nobody would have said a word, but there were probably too many voices in the corner,” Lee told Sky Sports.Furthermore, the assistant coach stressed the importance of Tyson Fury staying focused during breaks between rounds, avoiding any type of information “overload.”
For the rematch, the focus will be on maintaining calm and providing Fury with precise, necessary instructions at every moment. “There won’t be any changes. Sugar’s going to say what he’s going to say. John’s going to say what he’s going to say,” said Lee. “I don’t usually speak. I just told Tyson he was down on the cards. I was told that and had to relay it to him. That’s when I spoke.”Tyson Fury explains why he won’t target undisputed title if he defeats Oleksandr Usyk
Fury’s team is confident that the British champion can make the necessary adjustments to defeat Usyk in the second bout. According to Lee, “The better fighter wins the rematch. Usyk will be better, but Tyson can be a lot better.” Lee even suggested that in the first fight, Fury “was nowhere near his best,” hinting at significant room for improvement.
The highly anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk promises not only a strategic battle but also a test of control and composure in Fury’s corner. With a team seeking greater clarity and calm, Fury aims to regain his world title and reaffirm himself as the undisputed heavyweight champion.Andy Lee acknowledged there “probably were too many voices” in Tyson Fury’s corner during the defeat to Oleksandr Usyk .
Boxing legend Mike Tyson has responded energetically to concerns about his age as he prepares for his highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul, set for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson, 58, will face Paul, 27, who has found boxing a platform to expand his influence beyond social media. With 31 years between them, Tyson asserts that he’s not the average man of his age, challenging the perception that age is an obstacle.
In an interview with Mike Doocy from FOX 4, Tyson explained that most people his age haven’t trained as long or maintained the physical level he has. “Other people my age haven’t been training as long as me, been as consistent as me,” he assured. He added that, unlike others his age, his preparation and consistency make him unique. “I’m just a different species of human being,” Tyson stated.Earlier this year, the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was postponed due to an ulcer outbreak that affected the former heavyweight champion.
However, Tyson maintains that his health is fully restored, and he is in optimal physical condition. He pointed out that he is ready to fight and emphasized that his preparation has been thorough. Although he admits to needing more massages, Tyson affirmed that his training has maintained its usual intensity.
Jake Paul, meanwhile, began his foray into boxing in 2018, though he entered professional boxing in 2020 and currently holds a record of 10-1. Paul’s only loss was to Tommy Fury, brother of renowned British boxer Tyson Fury, in an eight-round fight that ended in a split decision on February 26, 2023.
It’s worth noting that Tyson acknowledges Paul’s abilities but asserts that the young boxer’s level is not comparable to his own. Additionally, he issued a direct challenge, urging Paul to take hits while standing his ground rather than “running like a thief,” as Tyson himself put it.
With absolute confidence, Tyson also

Lawrence Okolie has a new promoter.
The London based boxer won the WBC bridgerweight title back in May, but then vacated the title to move up to the heavyweight division.
Since that point, many have been wondering what is next for Okolie.
One of the questions surrounds his promotion team.
Lawrence Okolie was previously working with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, but then left to join BOXXER after a bitter ending to their relationship.
It seems that Okolie has now found a more permanent home.
And it’s with another promotion altogether.
Queensbury Promotions have announced that Lawrence Okolie has signed a contract to join their roster.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Frank Warren has
“Lawrence possesses all the attributes to make a big impact at heavyweight,” tweeted Warren.
“There are so many exciting fights and options out there for Lawrence and I am so looking forward to getting him started again!”
It seems that Lawrence Okolie is equally as enthused about the proposition.
Speaking to the Queensbury Promotions website, he de

“If you are a heavyweight in Britain or the world, it is the Warrens.
“They’ve got the best up and coming heavyweights, the best current heavyweights and the best who are on their way out.
“So it is the place to be, for me.
“It has gone through different phases in my career and I needed to find a home that would cater for this next period, right to the end of my career, which is the heavyweight dream of being a three-weight world champion.
“I am a natural for the weight, right from being on the GB team.
“I have been struggling with making weight but, when you have success, you keep on pushing it.
“I even had to come down to make bridgerweight, so I knew it was time to go up.”
“I am thrilled to add Lawrence to our burgeoning heavyweight ranks here at Queensberry and I fully expect him to increase our successes in the marquee division,” added Frank Warren.
“Lawrence possesses all the attributes to make a big impact at heavyweight and he will relish being released of the burden of cutting weight, allowing his natural talent and power to shine through.
“There are so many exciting fights and options out there for Lawrence and I am so looking forward to getting him started again.”
The future will be interesting to see what fights Queensbury Promotions line up for Okolie now that he’s moved to the heavyweight division.
At least for now, we know who will be managing his future at that level. The newest addition to the home of the Heavyweights @Lawrence_tko

Despite only being involved in boxing for a few years, Turki Alalshikh along with Riyadh Season has produced some of the best fight cards the sport has ever seen.
Their most recent card was headlined by Beterbiev-Bivol, which signified the first undisputed light-heavyweight fight to take place since 2002.
The card also included a rematch between Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke, the ever-present Chris Eubank Jr, IBF Cruiserweight World Champion Jai Opetaia, internet sensation Ben Whittaker, and the first-ever female world title fight to take place in Saudi Arabia between Skye Nicholson and Raven Chapman.
It has become the norm to expect His Excellency to present a full card of exciting fights.
On December 21st this is no different, the night headlined by the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is packed with quality fights.
In a video on Twitter/ X, last week Turki Alalshikh and Eddie Hearn announced plans for a new show.
Alalshikh: “Eddie, are you ready for the card in February?”
Hearn: February 22nd, I think it’s the best card yet for Riyadh Season.”
Since then, Vergil Ortiz and Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez’s trainer Robert Garcia speaking to BoxingScene has said that there are plans for his fighters to feature on this card.
WBC interim super welterweight champion Ortiz, could potentially fight the current IBF welterweight world champion, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.
WBC super flyweight world champion ‘Bam’ Rodriguez could fight 37-year-old former four-weight world champion, Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez.Moses Itauma welcomes potential Johnny Fisher fight at Usyk-Fury II press conference
Ortiz captured the interim super welterweight title by defeating Serhii Bohachuk by majority decision.
The fight was seen by fans as a robbery and what made it worse was Ortiz’s refusal to offer his opponent a rematch.
Whilst ‘Boots’ is the world champion, he would most likely be seen as the B-side in a fight with Ortiz, if it were to take place.
There is potential that ‘Bam’ Rodriguez could face critisicm from some boxing fans if he were to fight ‘Chocolatito’.
This is because the man from Nicaragua at 37-years-old is nearing the end of his career and he is not what he once was, so it could be seen that 24-year-old ‘Bam’ would be using him as a stepping stone.
Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season are making fights happen which ordinarily would potentially have been unlikley to have been made.
Boxing fans will be excited about the possibility of these fights taking place and for the announcement of the full card.

Gervonta Davis for many years now has proclaimed himself as ‘The face of boxing’.
Whether this is true or not, the man known as ‘Tank’ is certainly one of the biggest draws when it comes to pay-per-view figures.
Recently in Las Vegas, the reigning WBA lightweight champion knocked out Frank Martin in eight rounds, solidifying his dominance in the 135lb division and reinforcing the belief that he is the best in his weight class.
Post the fight, there were links of unification contests between the man from Baltimore and Vasyl Lomachenko (IBF) and Shakur Stevenson (WBC).
However, these fights have not materialised due to his rivals not being available.
Despite this, after rumours of the knockout artist returning on December 14th, it was confirmed that he would be fighting the current WBA super featherweight champion Lamont Roach (25-1-1), on this date at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
Since, losing for the first time in his career to Jamel Herring in 2019, Roach has gone on a six-fight win streak.
‘The Reaper’ notably defeated former ‘Tank’ opponent Hector Luis Garcia last November to claim his WBA title.
He then went on to defend his title in June by defeating Feargal McCrory by TKO in the eighth round.Ring Magazine rankings include surprise top two
However, per Dan Rafael on his Twitter/ X account, the fight is in doubt.
Been told by 3 sources involved in the event there’s good chance Tank-Roach won’t happen Dec. 14 as announced on PBC social platforms & by the fighters. Venue issue may be reason I’m told. Might happen as planned but unclear. 1 deemed it “50-50.” Could get pushed to early ‘25.
He then went on to say that there is no issue between the fighter’s deals, but the fight is not fully finalised, due to venue complications.
Therefore, it would seem as if the fight may not happen until 2025.
Furthermore, due to the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk occurring on December 21st, it is very unlikely that the PBC would schedule the fight for this date.
Fight fans will have to wait and see how Gervonta Davis’ fight plays out, but what is certain is that blockbuster clashes await him.Been told by 3 sources involved in the event there’s good chance Tank-Roach won’t happen Dec. 14 as announced on PBC social platforms & by the fighters. Undefeated cruiserweight and former Love Island star, Tommy Fury, has been absent from the boxing ring for over a year now but he has not been absent from the headlines. However, after recent reports that the 25-year-old was set to appear on a major reality TV show, there has been a drastic U-turn from the Brit with a rematch with KSI the likely reason why.
Fury handed both Jake Paul and KSI their first professional defeats since each of the internet personalities made the switch to the fight game, declaring that he wishes to put an ‘end to influencer boxing’ before his clash with the latter.
After a dull six-rounds against Olajide Olatunji (KSI), it was Fury who got the controversial nod on the scorecards but the question as to where ‘TNT’ would go next was a difficult one.
From headlining pay-per-views against social media sensations, a return to building his career by fighting on undercards was a daunting proposal but that decision was taken out of his hands when he was ruled out for 2024 through injury.
With his rehab almost complete, Tommy Fury became one of the names linked with an appearance on beloved ITV reality show ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”.
However, The Sun has now reported that Fury has pulled out of talks to star in the show in favour of ‘a more lucrative project’ – which is thought to be a second meeting with Olatunji, as a TV insider revealed that ‘bosses are surprised’ by the decision.Former heavyweight world champion set to return at 1,100 capacity venue
“Bosses are surprised Tommy has chosen to pull out of I’m A Celebrity at this late stage as it would have been a great opportunity for him too.
“Thankfully, the execs already had some great names waiting in the wings so they’ll now be looking at which ones fit best into the line up already booked so they can deliver a truly great series.
“With only weeks to go, bosses have lined up one of the most exciting casts in the show’s history.”
News of a potential rematch with KSI being around the corner for Fury conflict with this week’s comments from KSI’s manager, who explained that a second encounter between the popular pair would be expected to go ahead during late 2025.
Although, Fury may opt for a tune-up earlier in the year in an attempt to shake off any ring rust after the longest inactive spell of his career.
Anthony Joshua suffered a catastrophic knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois lost month as his plans to become a three-time world champion came crashing down in dramatic fashion. Instantaneously, both he and Eddie Hearn have called for a rematch, although it appears as though an injury may have hampered his plans.
‘AJ’ stepped through the ropes under the Wembley arch with the expectation of becoming boxing’s fifth three-time heavyweight champion but he was instead dispatched with relative ease by underdog Dubois.
From the opening bell onwards, ‘Triple D’ took the initiative and set out to prove why he was a worthy IBF world champion – and that he did.
A first-round knockdown set the tone for proceedings, and it was one-way traffic from there on out, as the poster boy of British boxing was dropped on four occasions, the last of which left Joshua laid face-first on the canvas and unable to beat the count.
Despite the one-sided dismissal of Joshua, the 35-year-old challenger has maintained that he wishes to meet with Dubois for a second time and level the scores, hopeful that a win could also tee-up the long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury – possibly even for the undisputed heavyweight title.
As a result of Fury’s unified title bout with Usyk in December, Joshua would realistically need to rematch Dubois in February so that he and Fury’s timelines align for a battle in mid 2025.
However, Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports that Joshua is carrying some minor injuries that makes a February return appear too quick of a turnaround, adding that a rematch with Dubois in May would be ‘ideal’.
“Our concern at the moment is just timing,”Sam Jones responds after Regis Prograis leaks his controversial fight prediction
“You’ve got a few little niggles, you get them looked at and then you can’t punch again for four, five weeks. If we’re going to fight him in February, we need to start camp in about three weeks’ time. It’s quite a fast turnaround.”
“Ideally we’d like to return around May time. It does feel as though it’s coming on quite quickly.
“From a body perspective we could probably do with a little bit more time ideally. Sometimes it’s not ideal and you just go for it. But we just need to decide are we going to be ready.
“[Joshua] has told me categorically: ‘I want the rematch.’ But it’s just a case of whether he’s going to be ready for February and that’s something they’re going to have to decide.
“It’s not ruled out. But we do appreciate it’s a fast turnaround.”
As for Dubois, he and Frank Warren are raring to go and full of confidence after the brutal beatdown that the IBF heavyweight champion handed his fellow Brit just a few weeks ago, and with Tyson Fury seeming to rule himself out of a meeting with Dubois, the Joshua rematch remains as his most lucrative proposal.
