Tyson Fury vows to reclaim the titles in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk

British boxer Tyson Fury is eagerly preparing for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for December 21. The highly anticipated fight will take place in Saudi Arabia, where Fury will seek to avenge his split-decision loss from May.

The first bout, held on May 18, 2024, was an unexpected turning point in Fury’s career. It marked the first professional loss for the Briton, who now holds a record of 34-1-1.

In contrast, Oleksandr Usyk, with an impressive undefeated record of 22-0-0, maintained his winning streak and solidified his dominance in the heavyweight division.

During their first encounter, questions arose regarding the clarity of instructions coming from Fury’s corner. These doubts fueled speculation about potential changes to his team ahead of the rematch.

However, at a recent press conference, Fury confirmed he will not make significant adjustments to his corner.

Andy Lee, a key figure in Fury’s team, also addressed the issue. Lee assured that communication with Fury would be clearer during the rematch, eliminating any confusion that may have impacted their strategy in May.

Fury has remained active on social media while preparing for the fight. In a recent video

“Four weeks to go to the biggest fight of the year. The biggest fighting in boxing. Me and Usyk. And I’m coming in hot. I’M COMING IN HOT! GET UP, CAN’T WAIT. 21st December… THE BELTS ARE GONNA BE MINE AGAIN! Get up,” Fury exclaimed passionately.

The Briton isn’t just focused on this rematch but has also shown interest in extending his rivalry with Usyk.Shakur Stevenson vs. William Zepeda to be rescheduled

Tyson Fury has hinted multiple times that a third fight could be on the horizon if he manages to defeat the Ukrainian in December. According to Fury, this trilogy would settle their dispute definitively.

Despite his focus on the rematch, Fury also has his sights set on a high-profile showdown against Anthony Joshua, which could potentially take place at Wembley Stadium.

December 21 promises to be a pivotal night for the heavyweight division. Tyson Fury will aim not only to redeem himself but also to reestablish himself as the world champion.

Caleb Plant challenges Edgar Berlanga

Boxer Caleb Plant has escalated his rivalry with Edgar Berlanga by issuing a direct challenge through his social media platforms. This feud, which began during the September 14, 2024, event in Las Vegas, United States, continues to gain traction.

At that event, Caleb Plant was crowned the interim WBA super middleweight champion after defeating Trevor McCumby by TKO in the ninth round.

The bout between Plant and McCumby was part of the undercard for the main event featuring Edgar Berlanga versus Canelo Álvarez. In that headlining fight, Berlanga was outclassed by unanimous decision after 12 grueling rounds. However, what caught the public’s attention the most was the budding rivalry between Caleb Plant and Edgar Berlanga.

During the fight week leading up to Berlanga-Canelo, the two fighters exchanged insults at the press conference.

Since then, the two pugilists have continued to engage in verbal sparring on social media.

This rivalry reached new heights last Sunday when Berlanga posted and then deleted a screenshot of private messages between the two.

In the deleted post, Berlanga wrote:

“I’m not afraid of nobody n*gg*. I come from nothing where n*gg*s get shot everybody crackhead dope IP on my door step n*gg*.”

Plant was quick to respond, writing:

“You talking to someone who don’t give a f*** about none of that s***. No one cares where you’re from.”

These messages sparked reactions from both fanbases, further increasing the tension between the fighters.Far from cooling things down, Caleb Plant intensified his challenge with a graphic post on social media.

The image depicted a simulation of Plant landing a punch that left Berlanga on the canvas while the referee counted. Plant accompanied the post with the message:

“@edgarberlanga you’ll say everyone’s name but mine.”Amanda Serrano could face Caroline Dubois

Additionally, Plant

“Na, we don’t respect you… Matter of fact, they’re laughing at you. He asked you about fighting me, and you could’ve at least LIED and said ‘hopefully’… But you wouldn’t even do that, ED… (can’t tag you because you turned that off after you deleted our convo you put up because everyone was cooking you…).”

With the boxing world’s eyes on them, the prospect of a bout between Caleb Plant and Edgar Berlanga seems inevitable.

So far, Berlanga has not directly responded to Plant’s latest comments. However, fans eagerly await the resolution of this rivalry where it matters most: inside the ring.Edgar Berlanga posting his DMs with Caleb Plant… pic.twitter.com/h85l3TLv8E

Amanda Serrano could face Caroline Dubois

Puerto Rican boxer Amanda Serrano is weighing her options after losing her highly anticipated rematch against Katie Taylor on November 15. The fight, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, ended with a close unanimous decision in favor of Taylor, who is now the undisputed super lightweight world champion.

Despite the outcome, Serrano remains one of the most prominent and followed female boxers in the world. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Nakisa Bidarian, Serrano’s co-promoter alongside Jake Paul, emphasized the significance of the fight and discussed Amanda Serrano’s next steps.

Bidarian noted that despite the loss, Serrano gained substantial recognition. He also revealed that a trilogy fight with Taylor was already planned if Serrano had won.

“I hate the result, but I love the outcome,” Bidarian remarked.

“Now Amanda Serrano is a free agent. She is the most followed female boxer of all time as a result, and in the US the sentiment is either she won or she was [unlucky not to get the decision],” Bidarian added.Among Amanda Serrano’s potential opponents is Britain’s Caroline Dubois, who recently claimed the interim lightweight title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

Dubois, known for her rising popularity, aims to position herself as a contender for the full world championship, currently held by Katie Taylor.

“If Caroline takes the right steps and the weight classes make sense, I think that’s a fight Amanda would look at,” Bidarian added.

He also mentioned other notable names such as Mikaela Mayer, Chantelle Cameron, and Alycia Baumgardner as potential rivals for Serrano.

Caroline Dubois secured the WBC interim title after convincingly defeating Maira Moneo this past August. She now seeks to solidify her status as a world champion.Shakur Stevenson vs. William Zepeda to be rescheduled

However, Katie Taylor, who holds titles in both the super lightweight and lightweight divisions, may soon be forced to vacate one of her belts.WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated that a decision on Taylor’s titles will be made soon.

“It has been quite a long time since [Katie Taylor] defended the lightweight [title]. Caroline Dubois is the interim champion,” Sulaiman said.

“Hopefully, there will be a resolution. We’re going to let Katie Taylor take a very well-deserved rest for a week, then we’re going to contact them and see exactly what the plans are,” Sulaiman explained.

Meanwhile, lightweight World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion Terri Harper has also expressed interest in a unification fight with Dubois.

Harper, a three-division world champion, solidified her position in the lightweight division after defeating Rhiannon Dixon in September.According to Eddie Hearn, Harper’s promoter, her team is open to negotiating a fight under the right conditions.

“There’s no tearing rush, but if they want it and they pay the money, they’ve got it,” Hearn stated.

With multiple options on the table, Amanda Serrano is eager to prove she remains one of the most influential figures in women’s boxing.

For her part, Caroline Dubois, bolstered by her undefeated record and recent interim title, continues to gain recognition in the lightweight division.

The landscape of women’s boxing in 2024 promises thrilling matchups, with names like Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, Caroline Dubois, and Terri Harper leading the charge.

David Benavidez states that Canelo can avoid him if he wants

In a recent interview with ESPN, David Benavidez

Benavidez made it clear that his primary motivation isn’t money but accomplishments.

“When I was a little kid, I had made a promise to myself that I was gonna go up against the best fighters and I was gonna beat the best fighters,” Benavidez declared.

The two-time super middleweight world champion expressed admiration for iconic figures like Oscar De La Hoya, Julio César Chávez, Roy Jones Jr., and Marco Antonio Barrera.According to David Benavidez in his interview with ESPN, his goal is for his career to be remembered on the same level as these legendary boxers.

When asked about a potential fight with Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, Benavidez adopted a firm tone.

“I think I’ve shown my worth. Everybody knows that the fight versus me and Canelo would definitely be a sellout. If Canelo doesn’t ever want to fight me, then I don’t need to fight him. I really don’t care,” Benavidez stated.

At the same time, Benavidez emphasized that he’s not willing to wait indefinitely for Canelo.

“If he wants to keep ducking me, and not fighting me, and showing the world that he only cares about money and not about fighting the best fighters in the world, then he can do whatever he wants,” Benavidez expressed.

“I don’t care about Canelo. All I care about is my career. I care about staying in my lane and beating the best fighters in the world. And that’s how it’s always gonna be,” Benavidez affirmed.Jai Opetaia homecoming fight announced as unifications made to wait

Despite his stance, David Benavidez acknowledged the public’s interest in a fight between the two.

“Obviously, that’s a fight that we all want. It would be a great fight for the fans. But you know what I mean? At the end of the day, if he don’t want [it], I can’t force that man to fight me,” Benavidez said.

The boxer expressed his desire to remain dominant in the ring, emphasizing that his goal doesn’t hinge on a specific matchup.

“I’m gonna just keep winning, keep being dominant and, you know, making my own lane from here on out,” Benavidez concluded.

At just 27 years old, David Benavidez continues to position himself as one of the most promising talents in professional boxing.

Although a fight with Canelo remains uncertain, Benavidez remains focused on his goal of becoming a boxing legend.

Chris Eubank Jr in discussions to face Conor Benn at new weight

In a recent exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Conor Benn revealed he is in negotiations to face Chris Eubank Jr. This potential bout is shaping up to be one of the most significant in British boxing history.

The fight between Benn and Eubank Jr was originally scheduled for 2022. However, it was canceled after Benn failed two anti-doping tests just a week before the match.

Earlier this November, the independent National Anti-Doping Panel lifted Benn’s provisional suspension, concluding that UKAD could not prove his guilt.

Currently, the British Boxing Board of Control is reviewing whether to reinstate Benn’s license.

This decision would allow Benn to compete again in the UK. Conor Benn has expressed his desire to face Chris Eubank Jr. in February, a bout that would evoke the legendary rivalry between their fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr.In his interview with Sky Sports, Conor Benn outlined the state of negotiations and the legal challenges he faced.

“I believe negotiations have started. It’s been very turbulent in terms of me going through what I was going through, in terms of the legal case. But now that that’s cleared, negotiations are on the way,” Benn stated.

Benn also emphasized the fight’s historical significance due to their fathers’ rivalry.

“It’s one of the biggest British domestic fights in history. I don’t think two fathers and two sons have ever fought [like this]. It’s about history. It’s about legacy,” Benn said.

BOXXER promoter Ben Shalom also expressed optimism about the fight. According to Shalom, the bout has the potential to fill any stadium in the UK.

“We are moving closer to a deal. Chris wants the fight next, and I believe Conor does too. The fight is there to be made. There are positive talks and assuming Conor gets his license back, it should happen next,” Shalom stated.

Conor Benn has shown flexibility regarding the fight’s terms, agreeing to compete at 160 pounds. It is important to note that Chris Eubank Jr. has regularly competed in the middleweight category (160 pounds).

Eubank Jr’s last fight was against Kamil Szeremeta on October 12, 2024, on the same card as Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol. For his fight against Szeremeta, Eubank Jr weighed in at 159.12 pounds, middleweight.

In contrast, Conor Benn typically competes in the welterweight category (147 pounds). His last fight was against Peter Dobson on February 24, 2024. For that bout, Benn weighed in at 150.6 pounds, welterweight.Oscar De La Hoya claims Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was staged

In his previous fight against Rodolfo Orozco on September 23, 2023, Benn weighed 153.6 pounds (almost 154 pounds), super welterweight.

Benn has also indicated that he is willing to concede privileges to Eubank Jr, such as entering the ring second and billing the fight as “Eubank-Benn.”

“You can have Eubank-Benn, you can have the home corner, I’m not petty about all that,” Benn stated. However, Conor Benn made certain personal demands for the fight: “No three knockdown rule, 18-foot ring… Give me all of that.”

Tony Sims, Benn’s trainer, confirmed that negotiations are progressing and noted that Conor Benn is better prepared now than two years ago, while the 35-year-old Chris Eubank Jr. might face disadvantages due to his age.

“We’re hoping it’s going to be the Eubank fight. If the fight does get made, he’ll go straight into that,” Sims stated.

“Eubank’s got the advantage in weight obviously, but I think Conor’s got the advantage in youth. It’s more of an even playing field than it was two years ago,” Sims added.

Recently, Eddie Hearn also provided a significant update on the potential fight between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.

If the fight with Eubank Jr does not materialize, Benn has a backup plan. This includes a potential fight against Mario Barrios for the WBC world title at 147 pounds.

“Hopefully we can make the Barrios fight, if it isn’t Eubank next. Fight Barrios for the WBC world title February, March. I’m just excited to be back,” Benn said.

If finalized, this fight between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. promises to be a historic event, not only reviving a family rivalry but also marking a milestone in British boxing.

Callum Smith clears up doubts about situation with his trainer

Recently, Matchroom Boxing announced that Callum Smith will be making his return to the ring. Smith is set to return to action on Saturday, November 30, as part of the card headlined by Sunny Edwards and Galal Yafai at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham, England.

In a recent interview with Boxing News, Callum Smith confirmed that he is still working with Buddy McGirt. However, he noted that the renowned trainer might not be in his corner on November 30.

Smith, 34, a former super middleweight world champion, is returning to the ring following his January defeat to Artur Beterbiev. That loss marked a challenging moment in the British fighter’s career, as it was his second professional defeat.

Preparation for his comeback, against an opponent yet to be confirmed, has been led by his brother Stephen, who has taken on the role of head trainer.

This adjustment comes after Callum Smith received short notice of the fight just a few weeks ago.

The tight schedule and limited time prevented Smith from traveling to the United States to train with McGirt. Similarly, there was no opportunity for the Hall of Fame trainer to travel to England to oversee the camp.

Despite these logistical challenges, Callum Smith emphasized that his relationship with McGirt remains strong.

The boxer stated that he plans to continue working with McGirt in the long term, despite their first fight together ending in a loss to Beterbiev.During his interview with Boxing News, Callum Smith explained his current situation and reassured that there has been no fallout with McGirt.

“There’s no split with me and Buddy, but I didn’t really know this fight was happening. I wasn’t in camp, so I wasn’t going to go over to America without a date,” Smith said.WBC interim title bout being touted to determine O’Shaquie Foster opponent

The Liverpool native pointed out that the fight confirmation came late, complicating arrangements with McGirt.

“It’s only just been made now, so I’ll speak to him about the situation for this fight,”* Smith added.

Smith highlighted his brother Stephen’s significant role in his recent preparation but made it clear that he has no plans to part ways with McGirt in the future.

“Buddy and my brother Stephen, who has helped me a lot over the last few months—I’ll be doing bits with both of them, but there’s no split from Buddy; it’s just circumstance,” Smith noted.Smith admitted that he has not yet decided whether McGirt will be in his corner on November 30.

“Buddy might be in the corner for this one still. I’ll see whether it’s worth bringing him over or not. There’s no decision made on that yet,” Smith concluded.

The fight in Birmingham will mark Smith’s first step in his attempt to return to winning ways.

His last outing saw him fall to the fearsome undisputed champion Artur Beterbiev, who stopped him via seventh-round technical knockout.

Now, with his team temporarily divided due to logistical reasons, Callum Smith is preparing to prove in his comeback that he remains an elite contender in world boxing.

Oscar De La Hoya claims Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was staged

Legendary former boxer and promoter Oscar De La Hoya has stirred controversy with his recent comments. In the Youtube Channel of Fight Hub TV, De La Hoya

The match, which saw controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, 27, face off against the legendary 58-year-old Mike Tyson, ended with a victory for Paul.

The unanimous decision in his favor came after eight rounds in which Tyson, despite his age, showed remarkable resilience. Despite doubts about the legitimacy of the event, it was a commercial success.

The fight broke ticket sales records and reached 65 million homes via streaming, amassing nearly 200 million viewers. However, for Oscar De La Hoya, these numbers do not justify what he describes as a “awful.”

De La Hoya harshly criticized the fight, calling it a scripted event. According to the promoter, Tyson appeared exhausted even before stepping into the ring, and the fight failed to meet fan expectations.

“From the start, that fight was awful. Mike Tyson almost fell during his walkout, and he looked like he was stuck in quicksand within the first ten seconds,” said De La Hoya.

The former world champion suggested that there was a prior agreement to ensure Jake Paul’s victory. “I believe that Tyson was certainly held back,” he stated. According to De La Hoya, the fight was designed to benefit the YouTuber, which, in his view, damages boxing’s credibility.Oscar De La Hoya also took the opportunity to talk about the current state of boxing, which he described as a sport in decline.

“The world boxing has been in hibernation it’s like a Sleeping Bear,” remarked De La Hoya.

According to him, the lack of exciting and authentic fights has pushed fans away from the sport.

De La Hoya compared the current era to the 1990s when fighters like Mike Tyson, Julio César Chávez, and Félix Trinidad filled stadiums with thrilling bouts.

“Fighters are not daring to be great… And that’s killing the sport,” De La Hoya said.

He also criticized contemporary boxers for prioritizing financial gains over the quality of their matches.Cyrus Pattinson reveals challenges faced on his return to the ring

“People try to blame the promoters, trainers, or managers, but the truth is, it’s the fighters,” added De La Hoya.Oscar De La Hoya concluded his comments by calling for boxing to reclaim its essence.

He mentioned memorable fights like those of Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward, who earned respect for their dedication in the ring. According to him, the sport needs more fighters with that level of commitment.

He also did not hold back in criticizing current figures like Canelo Álvarez, whom he compared to Kim Kardashian.

“We have Canelo, who’s the most popular but also the most boring fighter. He’s like Kim Kardashian: no personality, yet he makes tons of money. Essentially, Canelo is ‘the king of the fattest sloppiest nastiest BBL era’,” De La Hoya declared.

De La Hoya highlighted the fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, which was part of the same card. According to him, this fight provided an authentic and exciting experience for boxing fans.

“The real winners of the night were Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor,” concluded De La Hoya.

The controversy generated by Oscar De La Hoya’s statements reflects the impact of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on boxing.

While some celebrate its commercial success, others question whether events like this ultimately benefit or harm the sport in the long run.

Cyrus Pattinson reveals challenges faced on his return to the ring

British boxer Cyrus Pattinson opened up about his arduous journey back to the ring after facing serious health issues. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the pugilist

Pattinson suffered a loss to Conah Walker on August 23, 2024, which marked his last appearance in the ring.

However, the real challenge emerged months after his victory over Jorick Luisetto on September 22, 2023. During a training session in December of that year, he noticed a troubling issue with his vision.

Pattinson explained that his vision was misaligned, with images jumping from one eye to the other. The severity of the problem led him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with trauma behind the eye. This diagnosis not only prevented him from boxing but also prohibited him from engaging in any form of physical exercise.

During his interview with Sky Sports, Cyrus Pattinson revealed the difficulties he endured during his recovery. He also described how being unable to train impacted his mental health. According to him, losing the ability to train felt like being “in a car without wheels.”

“I was thinking: ‘Is this going to heal?’ I had to wear a patch for months. I didn’t know when I could take the patch off,” Pattinson revealed.

“Training’s always been a crutch,” Pattinson said.

Boxing and exercise have been fundamental pillars in his life, and losing them made him feel like he was also losing his purpose.

“It’s my calling at the end of the day. It’s something that I’m really good at and I’ve done all my life, and it’s a massive part of my identity,” added Pattinson.

Despite the challenges, Pattinson fully recovered after six months of treatment.Hamzah Sheeraz could face Carlos Adames in 2025

“I made a full recovery, got my license back. That was my worry as well,” expressed Pattinson. Now, more motivated than ever, Cyrus Pattinson is ready to step back into the ring.

“No anesthetic to numb the pain or to slow your mind down. You deal with it every day,” Pattinson stated.

“There’s probably not really anyone that knows the full ins and outs of where you’ve been mentally, spiritually, and emotionally,” Pattinson noted.

Cyrus Pattinson affirms that this comeback holds special significance for him. For the British boxer, a true fighter is someone who overcomes setbacks and comes back stronger.

Despite his return, Pattinson isn’t focused on titles or long-term goals. The British boxer expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him during his recovery.

Jake Paul turns down shot at Daniel Dubois’ IBF heavyweight world title

Jake Paul has been the beneficiary of some lucrative proposals in the days that have followed his victory against Mike Tyson, although the most eye-catching offer of all came from reigning IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, who is yet to find an opponent for his upcoming fight in Riyadh. Yet, despite the allure of the opportunity to pull off the upset of the century and win the coveted title, Jake Paul has turned Dubois down.

‘The Problem Child’ comfortably defeated a faded version of ‘Iron Mike’ last Friday in one of the most watched events in recent memory, although it was Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano who truly stole the show prior to an underwhelming main-event.

Nevertheless, Paul-Tyson was a monumental financial success for the headliners and the clash has caught the attention of boxers around the planet, with Paul arguably the most sought-after payday in the sport.

At present, undisputed light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and current WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena make up two of the three active title-holders to have called for a showdown with the YouTuber-turned-boxer, but it is Daniel Dubois’ offer that has sparked the most outrage.

Shortly after his fight with the once ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’, Paul received a message from the hard-hitting Brit, offering the polarising social media sensation a shot for ‘the legitimate heavyweight championship of the world’ – a challenge that seemed to be accepted at the time.

However, Jake Paul has since had a change of thought and will now not pursue a challenge for the heavyweight world title, as his manager Nakisa Bidarian told Sky Sports that Paul’s interest is elsewhere as for now.

“When Jake got that DM, he sent it to me and said: ‘How funny is this, how the world has turned.'”

“Jake’s feedback to me was I want to do that fight. Not now. But I want to do that fight,”Deontay Wilder challenge responded to by Francis Ngannou

“To be a world champion at cruiserweight, he wants to do that. The other is to test the limits of expectations. Test the limits of what’s possible.”

“It isn’t about the money. He’s made lots of money from the time he was 18 years old. It’s really about disruption.

“It’s really about doing things that make you say: ‘Wow, that really happened.’ That’s what excites us.”

Instead Paul is poised to drop back down to the cruiserweight division and adopt a more natural weight for his next outing.

Although, a comparably less competitive bridgerweight division could provide the 27-year-old with the perfect opportunity to capture a world title and silence his doubters in the future.

Meanwhile, Dubois’ promoter Frank Warren has explained that an opponent will be announced imminently for his ‘Triple D’s’ second title defence and refused to rule out a meeting with Paul down the line.

Chris Eubank Sr. names the three boxers he would ‘go to war with’

Chris Eubank Sr. is notorious for his eccentric style and meticulous articulation of vocabulary, as well as his dedication to both the understanding of and abiding by the ‘warrior’s code’. Now, Eubank has taken his ethical approach in a more literary sense and outlined which fellow fighters he would choose to have his back in war.

Whilst Eubank was an intriguing character outside of the ring, he was a ruthless yet artistic machine out of it, famously maintaining a never-say-die attitude throughout his career and only ever being stopped in his final professional contest.

Wins over the likes of Nigel Benn and Michael Watson were a testament to the gritty but beautiful style of Eubank, forever showing a willingness to fight through the fire and the pain to get his hand raised over that of his rivals.

Now Eubank seeks to capitalize on his superstardom with the youth of today and has begun a YouTube channel, where he answers questions from the public.

In the maiden episode of ‘Call Chris Eubank’, the two-division world champion responded to a fans’ question of which three fighters he would like to have his back in war.

“The first person that I would have at my back is James Toney. He is an energy which has no harness. This is a very, scary man, who doesn’t use reason, and that is the only weapon we use, he doesn’t use this particular weapon.

“He will eat you. He will cook you. He will eat you in public, this guy. He has to have been one of the greatest middleweights of all time.”Hamzah Sheeraz could face Carlos Adames in 2025

“He is a beautiful example to choose of how not to behave, but if I were going to choose someone to go into battle, I wouldn’t need anybody else other than him, he is like me – he is a monster, only I am a kind of gentle man.

“Obviously, Mike Tyson. He has the same warrior spirit which doesn’t understand yield. We yield for nobody, no one.

“I watched that man in Memphis, Tennessee fight Lennox Lewis and listened to him say in the corner ‘I cannot fight this man, he is too big, he is too powerful’ and then got up and went out for the eighth round and allowed Lennox Lewis a clean kill.

“That is a man of heart, of substance, of integrity.

“Who is the third person that I would have with me in battle? It’s actually Floyd Mayweather, it is not for his fighting ability, it is for his strategic ability, being able to see how a fight can play out and see it before it happens – then do it.

“If it is an earthly war, I want to go for Floyd Mayweather Jr. because he knows.”

Readers can submit questions to the ‘Call Chris Eubank’ by sending a Whatsapp voice note to +44 7379 651620, with new episodes of the series set to be released regulary on both YouTube and Spotify.

WBC interim title bout being touted to determine O’Shaquie Foster opponent

O’Shaquie Foster has become a name synonymous with fire fights over the last couple of years and the American now appears to be the top player at super-featherweight. However, should the WBC interim clash that is being proposed be made, the victor is sure to push the champion to the limit.

Foster outpointed Rey Vargas for the then vacant WBC super-featherweight title back in February 2023 but it was eight months later where ‘Ice Water’ truly earned respect, knocking out Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez in the final round of his first defence whilst behind on the scorecards in a fight of the year contender.⚡️O’Shaquie Foster stopping Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez in round 12 away from home in Cancun.

Foster was down 110-99, 107-102 on two cards, and up 106-103 on the other, so would have lost if Hernandez saw out the round pic.twitter.com/IQ3xcOaFWU

— Tokkerū (@ATokkers5) July 1, 2024

The Texan would made one additional defence of his 130lb crown against Abraham Nova before being on the wrong side of the most controversial decision of 2024, losing a split-decision to Robson Conceicao after appearing to win almost every round.

Thankfully, Foster got an instant chance at redemption and last month he was able to regain the super-featherweight throne with a closer-fought split-decision victory over the Brazilian, marking a run of five incredibly arduous contests for the 31-year-old and that run is showing no signs of coming to an end.

A clash between WBC #2 ‘Rocky’ Hernandez and former WBC featherweight champion Mark Magsayo (WBC #3) was mentioned by Filipino Media’s Anthony Joaquin Arieta on social media, with members of both teams then lobbying for what would likely be a showdown for the WBC interim title, each claiming to have sent the other an offer.Where do we sign???

— Fercobox (@hectorferco) November 20, 2024Derek Chisora vs. Jarrell Miller announcement imminent with fight date and location touted

Hector Fernandez de Cordova [Hernandez’s manager]: “Where do we sign?”

“Matchroom Boxing sent an offer to Magsayo’s team not long ago, waiting on response.”

Sean Gibbons [Magsayo’s manager]: “PBC sent Matchroom an offer, you need not wait anymore!!”

Both Fernandez and Gibbons were also seen to be applying pressure on the WBC to order the contest at their convention in Hamburg next month.

Although, Magsayo does have a fight date pencilled in for December 14th in California against an unnamed opponent, after fighting just once in 2024 thus far.

Josh Warrington U-turns on retirement talk: ‘It was a rash decision’

Two-time featherweight champion Josh Warrington has been the fighting pride of Leeds for around a decade now, but it seemed as though his career had come to an end after a recent defeat at Wembley Stadium. However, at 34-years-old, Warrington has decided that he still has enough remaining in the tank to continue to compete.

Fighting regularly at the First Direct Arena in his hometown, Warrington took the traditional domestic route to superstardom by defeating Martin Lindsay and Davide Dieli for the respective British and European featherweight titles back in 2014.

After maintaining his undefeated record and rising up the world rankings, ‘The Leeds Warrior’ secured a dream world title shot with a showdown against Wales’ IBF champion Lee Selby at Elland Road- home of Warrington’s beloved Leeds United F.C.

In front of around 25,000, Warrington and Selby went to war in a 126lb classic with the home fighter coming out on top, before following up that performance with impressive title defences against Carl Frampton, Kid Galahad and Sofiane Takoucht. What a performance. What a fight 👏

Yet, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Warrington would fall victim to one of the upsets of the century when he was brutally knocked out by Mauricio Lara in a non-title bout, although the Yorkshireman would vacate his IBF strap soon after.Huge KO 🥊

— Sky Sports (@SkySports) February 13, 2021

Their rematch was cut short by a head clash, but Warrington was able to regain his IBF title with a stoppage win in a rematch against Spain’s Kiko Martinez in 2022, before losing the belt to Luis Alberto Lopez nine months later.

Since then, Warrington has twice challenged for world honours and been unsuccessful each time, losing to Leigh Wood for the WBA featherweight title and Anthony Cacace for the IBO super-featherweight trinket, leaving his gloves in the ring under the Wembley arch after the latter to insinuate that this would be his final appearance.Eddie Hearn provides major update on Chris Eubank Jr Conor Benn fight

Although, in an interview with DAZN, Warrington displayed the same grit outside of the ring that he notoriously showed inside of it, refusing to call it a day despite one win in his last six contests.

“I laid my gloves down in the ring, [but] it felt like a rash decision. One of my friends, [kickboxer] Liam Harrison did something similar.

“I thought, with my frustrations that I couldn’t get going [in the fight] that maybe it’s not there. I’m always critical. I can be winning a fight and think I’m not doing good enough.

“After analysing it, and watching back with my team, I still think there’s enough there to compete at the highest level, and to win as well. Physically, I feel good.

“I do feel that if my mental side had been good [against Cacace], it might have been a different outcome. I can’t complain about it, because what has happened has happened.

“I believe if it’s gone physically, it’s gone. You can’t get that back. But the mental side can be changed. I’ve pinpointed the reasons why I wouldn’t let the shots fall as I usually do.”

It is assumed that Warrington will return in the super-featherweight division after difficulties making the featherweight limit in the past, as he prepares for a possible long-craved U.S. debut or a last dance in front of his Leeds faithful.

Amanda Serrano answers key questions regarding trilogy with Katie Taylor

Whilst the majority of the talk last weekend was surrounding that incredibly controversial fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor as the co-main event provided fans with another epic. Despite losing to Tailor twice already, no one would say no to Serrano having the opportunity to fight the Irishwomen again. Now the Puerto Rican has answered some of the key questions regarding a potential historic trilogy.

In what was another razor-close fight, Serrano was on the wrong side of the scorecards yet again, with all three judges ruling the bout 95-94 (x3) in Taylor’s favour.

As a result of the Netflix commentary team, the audience in the arena, and Serrano’s team, she felt she was robbed of a victory and she took to her Twitter/ X account to publish her discontent.

Nevertheless, she returned to social media to retract these claims, congratulating Taylor on her victory.

Moreover, after labelling the bout another huge step in women’s boxing, Serrano has called for a trilogy and speaking to GQ Sports has answered some key questions regarding the fight.

Speaking on whether there will be another two years until the pair face off again, she said, “Definitely not, because I don’t have two more years in me to wait. Listen, I’m the fighter. It’s up to my team with the negotiations, but I’m up for it. I know the fans want to see it again and I’m up for giving great shows.”Sunny Edwards claims he can “definitely outbox” Galal Yafai

She was then asked where the fight could take place.

“I’m ready to fight. We fought in New York. We fought on neutral ground. If it makes money, it makes sense. Or if it makes sense, it makes money.”

Finally, she was asked about the possibility of there being three-minute rounds instead of the standard two minutes for women’s fights.

“If I were to have the extra minute in both fights, it would’ve been a totally different fight.”

After providing two of the best fights seen in a boxing ring, let alone a women’s boxing ring, the entire boxing world would most likely love to see the rivals face off for a final third time.

Sunny Edwards claims he can “definitely outbox” Galal Yafai

Next Saturday night Sunny Edwards and Galal Yafai clash at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham in an enticing flyweight clash which could have huge ramifications on both of their careers. Despite the fight from the outset being incredibly tough to call, Edwards has backed himself to do a job on his opponent.

Former IBF World Champion Edwards has wanted to fight Yafai throughout the entirety of his career after the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist was selected to go to the Rio Olympics ahead of him in 2016 – this was after Edwards had beaten him in the amateurs in 2015.

The counter-punching, slick 5’3 man from Surrey lost his IBF title in 2023 after his shot at greatness against Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez ultimately failed as he was stopped in the ninth round.

He did return to the ring in June when he defeated Adrian Curiel by a unanimous technical decision, following a cut to Edwards preventing the fight from carrying on after an accidental clash of heads.

Yafai is only eight fights into his professional career after picking up his Gold meal in 2020.

He has stopped his last two opponents impressively, which could pose problems to Edwards after he struggled to deal with ‘Bams’ heavy hands.

Moreover, a win for him would provide a huge springboard to kick on in his career.Jai Opetaia and Gilberto Ramírez could unify cruiserweight titles

Nevertheless, Edwards is confident that this will not happen as has backed himself to make the fight easier for him than many are expecting.

He spoke on Matchroom Boxing’s new documentary named ‘Make the Days Count’.

“I think as long as I stay disciplined with my feet I can hurt him, I can definitely outbox him.”

“I think if I lose this fight it’s completely on my doing. I think that it is there for me to win.”

Edwards has said that the result of this fight is in his hands, and he also has the power to hurt his opponent.

Whilst he is only 28 years old, a defeat to Edwards would result in a long way back to the level he once was at.

Hamzah Sheeraz speaks out after opting to fight Carlos Adames over Janibek Alimkhanuly

Hamzah Sheeraz has become one of the stars in British boxing after delivering many superb performances on the biggest of stages. The 25-year-old middleweight is already on the cusp of becoming a world champion, and he has now provided an update on why he has chosen to fight WBC champion Carlos Adames over IBF and WBO champion Janibek Alimkhanuly.

2024 has been an incredible year for the heavy-hitting Brit, he has produced three stunning knockout victories against Liam Williams, Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams, and most recently Tyler Denny.

Not only have has the boxing world been impressed by this, the man making all the big fights happen Turki Alalshikh has shown just how much he values Sheeraz by making him an ambassador of Riyadh Season.

Sheeraz now sits as the number one middleweight in the UK and world honours are calling his name.

After it was confirmed that he would return on a proposed February 22nd card on another instalment of Riyadh Season, it looked like he was set to fight Janibek Alimkhanuly.

However after purse bids were set for November 18th, he withdrew from the fight.

It was later revealed that this was because he had agreed terms to fight Carlos Adames instead.

Sheeraz has now spoken out on why he did this on his Twitter/ X account.Hamzah Sheeraz could face Carlos Adames in 2025

“I’ve been saying this for ages. It got ordered after I beat ammo Williams. One step at a time IA”

He has said that this fight was always the plan after it got ordered following his victory over Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams in June.

Adames poses a strong record of 24-1-0, with his only defeat coming in 2021 against Brahian Jose Medina.

Nevertheless, if the fight does take place next, Sheeraz will enter the ring as the favourite.

It is most likely that if the fight happens, it will feature on a February 22nd card, headlined by Daniel Dubois.

Future super fights are there to be made against unified champion Janibek Alimkhanuly and WBA champion Erislandy Lara.

Ben Shalom claims Martin Bakole will be a world champion in 2025

Martin Bakole may well be one of the most dangerous fighters in the heavyweight division at the moment, however, it seems like none of his rivals are rushing to fight him. Nevertheless, his promoter Ben Shalom has said that they will not be able to do this much longer as by next year the man from Congo will be a world champion.

Bakole is coming off an impressive stoppage victory against fellow heavyweight contender Jared Anderson.

His promoter Ben Shalom has on many occasions labelled him as the “most avoided man in the division”.

However, the 6’6 powerhouse does not possess the global name that some of his rivals do, therefore a fight with him offers more risk than it does reward.

Nevertheless, it looked like he would be facing rival Agit Kabayel in a final eliminator bout for the IBF title until the German pulled out of purse bids – which may have been due to an opportunity arising to fight champion Daniel Dubois.

As a result, it is now expected that Zhilei ‘Big Bang’ Zhang will assume Kabayel’s position in the final eliminator.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Boxxer’s Ben Shalom has revealed what he expects Zhang to do and where he expects Bakole to be in a year.

“Agit Kabayel pulled out of the purse bids. He didn’t want the fight. Zhilei Zhang has now been ordered. We expect him to turn the fight down too.”

“They can run but they can’t hide. Martin is in a great position. He will fight for the mandatory spot against whoever is willing to step up and then fight for the IBF World Title.”Tommy Fury and Darren Till will fight in the heavyweight division

“There is a reason people don’t want to fight Martin. We’ve all heard the sparring stories.”

“He is the bogeyman of the division, but his time is coming and once he becomes IBF World Champion, he can rule the division for a long time.”

“Martin Bakole will be world champion in the next 12 months,” Shalom said.”

“He has a clear route to the IBF World Title so people can’t avoid him any longer. He’s coming for Daniel Dubois.”

“It’s an exciting time for Martin. He is one fight away from boxing for the IBF World Title.”

Shalom has said that he also expects Zhang to pull out of a fight with Bakole, just like Kabayel did.

Moreover, the UK promoter said that he is going to be crowned world champion in 2025.

Eddie Hearn provides major update on Chris Eubank Jr Conor Benn fight

A fight between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn was once a fantasy, however, now there seems to be a real possibility that the pair will reignite their father’s rivalry and put it all on the line. Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that this fight is edging closer to being made.

A fight between the two rivals was set to take place in October 2022, but after Benn tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug Clomiphene, the fight was cancelled and ‘The Destroyer’ was suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC).

Now two years on, Benn has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP), but he is yet to be given his boxing license back from the BBBofC.

Despite not having a license to fight in the UK, Benn has fought twice in the States, however, both performances were rather underwhelming.

Eubank Jr after avenging his defeat to Liam Smith, has recently knocked out Kamil Szeremeta in Saudi Arabia on the undercard of Beterbiev-Bivol.

After the fight, Benn stormed the ring demanding the pair finally get the fight on, which was comically refereed by footballer Neymar Jr.

Eubank accepted, and most importantly Turki Alalshikh revealed that he would look to put the fight on.

The rumoured February 22nd card could present the perfect opportunity for the pair to finally fight.

Today Eddie Hearn has revealed where they are with this fight.Main card and date announced for David Benavidez vs. David Morrell

Speaking on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel, Hearn said he is “very hopeful” about a deal being done.

”I think if everyone’s sensible, proactive, and just park the egos for a moment, then I think we can get that fight made.”

Hearn has said that he thinks the fight can be made, as long as both teams co-operate well.

A potential fight on February 22nd could potentially be a reason why Daniel Dubois’ return fight has not been announced yet, as Frank Warren confirmed that ‘Triple D’ would return on this date.

Darren Till shock weight revealed ahead of Tommy Fury clash

It has now been confirmed that former UFC star Darren Till will be the opponent for Tommy Fury’s comeback to professional boxing, as both men chase lucrative showdowns with Jake Paul and KSI. However, with just nine weeks until fight night, fans may be surprised to hear Till’s current weight.

Fury handed both Paul and KSI their lone career defeats last year and therefore has a target on his back as each of the YouTuber-turned-boxers hope to avenge their respective losses in the future

However, an injury to the 10-0 cruiserweight saw Fury sidelined throughout 2024, unable to capitalize on what would surely be another mammoth payday against either of his former opponents.

Now that his rehabilitation has been complete, it has been announced that Fury will return in a clash with loudmouthed mixed martial artist Darren Till, who makes his professional debut.

Despite fighting in the UFC as a welterweight (170lbs) and middleweight (185lbs), Fury-Till will be an eight-round contest in the heavyweight division, according to The Stomping Ground’s Charlie Parsons, although alternate reports suggest a 205lb catchweight.Tommy Fury vs Darren Till is set to take place at heavyweight, Fury has revealed. “No, [I am not going to stop drinking because] Tommy is that s**t that I don’t need to.”

As for Fury, he weighed-in at 182.5lbs for his most recent outing against KSI and will assumably pile on the pounds to be better suited to a 205lb catchweight or heavyweight bout.
