Will Dubois Survive Joshua’s Deadly Right Hand?

Daniel Dubois has been warned about the "scary power" of Anthony Joshua ahead of their highly anticipated heavyweight world title clash at Wembley Stadium. Billy Joe Saunders, a former middleweight world champion, recently observed Joshua's training and was shocked by the strength the heavyweight is displaying.

Saunders, who has been watching Joshua train under Ben Davison, stated that the British fighter looks rejuvenated and dangerous. "It seems like he's reborn again," Saunders told Box Nation, noting that Joshua's punching power is "like a car doing 100mph into a wall." This fight marks Joshua's chance to become a three-time world champion after securing four straight victories following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, echoed Saunders' sentiment, emphasizing that the former champ has regained his confidence and is firing on all cylinders. Hearn also pointed out that the fear of losing is no longer a concern for Joshua, as he's been through tough losses before. He added that Dubois will face immense pressure at Wembley, and it will be a true test of Dubois' mental strength to stay composed in such a high-stakes environment.

Dubois, known for his physical strength and knockout power, will need to avoid making mistakes against a Joshua who is in top form. While Saunders acknowledged Dubois' ability to punch hard, he warned that Dubois' flaws could cost him in the ring. The bout is shaping up to be a knockout contest, with both fighters possessing the potential to end the fight early.

CAN PLANT'S FOCUS ON MCCUMBY PAY OFF?

Caleb Plant is gearing up for a pivotal fight on September 14th, aiming to secure a rematch with Canelo Alvarez. Plant (22-2, 13 KOs) faces Trevor McCumby for the WBA Interim Super Middleweight Title on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga event. This fight puts him one step closer to challenging the winner of the Canelo-Berlanga clash.

The stakes are high for Plant, who last fought in 2021 when he suffered an 11th-round TKO loss to Canelo. The build-up to their first fight was tense, including a heated altercation at a press conference where Plant attempted to slap Canelo. Despite their bad blood, the two fighters showed mutual respect after their bout. Now, Plant is eager for a second chance, believing a win against McCumby could solidify his position for another shot at Canelo.

Beyond the Canelo rematch, Plant is also interested in potential showdowns with Berlanga and Jermall Charlo. Plant’s verbal spats with both fighters have only fueled speculation of future fights. "Berlanga is on my list of fighters to face," Plant said, though he doesn't believe Berlanga can defeat Canelo.

For now, Plant is laser-focused on McCumby and the opportunity to rise in the super middleweight division. “I need to put all of my effort and energy into this fight,” he stated. If he wins, the door opens to the legacy-defining rematches and challenges he craves.

Will Mike Tyson Suffer the Same Fate as Holyfield Against Jake Paul?

Mike Tyson is set to make a highly anticipated return to the ring at age 58, facing YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Texas. The fight was initially postponed due to Tyson’s health, but now he is ready to face an opponent 31 years younger. With Tyson's last sanctioned fight being 19 years ago, many wonder if he will end up like Evander Holyfield, who was outclassed in his return to the ring in 2021.

Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) has built a name for himself in boxing, recently defeating Mike Perry in a 6th-round TKO. Paul will look to exploit his advantages in speed and stamina to take down Tyson. But Tyson’s power is the real danger in the early rounds. If he lands a clean shot, the fight could be over quickly. However, if the fight drags on, Tyson’s age and conditioning might spell trouble.

Tyson's last title win was back in 1996, and while he still packs a punch, he faces a situation similar to Holyfield, who was stopped in the first round against Vitor Belfort in 2021. Tyson’s reflexes, speed, and endurance have likely diminished, and Paul will be eager to outpace him as the rounds progress.

The matchup raises the question: Will Mike Tyson prove he still has what it takes, or will fight fans witness another 58-year-old legend struggling like Holyfield did in his final fight?

WILL JOSHUA'S LAW 15 MENTALITY WORK?

Anthony Joshua is gearing up for a high-stakes clash with Daniel Dubois, drawing inspiration from the principles of self-help philosophy, specifically Law 15 which emphasizes "Crush your enemy totally." With the fight scheduled for September 21st, Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) faces a formidable challenge in Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs), known for his devastating punching power. At 35 years old, Joshua's physical prowess remains intact, but questions linger about his mental fortitude after tough battles in the ring.

Mentally preparing for the upcoming bout, Joshua must maintain composure against Dubois' aggressive style. Gareth A. Davies discussed Joshua's mental state, suggesting concerns about potential PTSD affecting his performance. Despite these challenges, Joshua plans to assert dominance early in the fight, focusing on strategic jabs to control the pace.

However, the outcome holds significant implications beyond the ring. Should Dubois secure victory, it sets him on a path towards a rematch with Usyk, but recent comments indicate Joshua could still face Tyson Fury regardless of the fight's result, altering the dynamics of the heavyweight scene.

WILL DUBOIS DERAIL JOSHUA’S COMEBACK FIGHT?

Eddie Hearn has voiced concerns that Daniel Dubois may not handle the immense pressure of facing Anthony Joshua in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on September 21st. With both fighters holding high stakes, Hearn wonders if Dubois’ game plan will unravel as the fight progresses. Joshua, carrying the weight of British boxing on his shoulders, cannot afford to lose this bout.

Dubois, the IBF heavyweight champion, will enter the ring as the underdog, but Hearn believes that fighting on such a massive stage may lead him to crumble under pressure. While Joshua has been in similar high-stress situations before, a loss to Dubois could spell disaster for his career. Hearn is counting on Dubois to fall apart mentally, but the same could happen to Joshua, as some feel his mental state has been shaky in recent years.

Hearn has also expressed concern about Joshua’s legacy if he loses to a fellow British fighter. Dubois has proven his ability to handle pressure in previous bouts, and if he fights the right way, he could shock the boxing world. Joshua's career has had its ups and downs, and another loss could mean the end of his time as a top contender. A knockout by Dubois, followed by a rematch loss, would be devastating for Joshua’s career.

While Hearn anticipates a tough fight for both men, he acknowledges that Dubois has shown resilience in recent bouts, having fought through tough challenges like Oleksandr Usyk. However, Hearn’s primary focus is on keeping Joshua on top, as his loss would not only affect his legacy but also impact the business side of Matchroom Boxing.

As the fight day approaches, Hearn is doing everything he can to psych out Dubois and give Joshua the edge. But if Joshua crumbles under pressure, it could be the end of his reign in the heavyweight division, and a new star in Dubois could rise.

IS BOOTS ENNIS TAKING A BIG RISK AGAINST CHARLES CONWELL?

Jaron ‘Boots Ennis’ is preparing to move up to the junior middleweight division, and his team has reportedly sent a six-figure offer to unbeaten contender Charles Conwell for a fight later this year. While this isn’t the high-profile opponent some expected, Conwell brings significant danger to the table, making this a risky debut for Ennis at 154 pounds.

At 26, Conwell (20-0, 15 KOs) has built a reputation as a dangerous fighter with serious punching power. He has recent wins over tough opponents like Nathaniel Gallimore and Juan Carlos Abreu, proving he is no easy challenge. For Ennis, stepping up to junior middleweight with a fighter like Conwell could be hazardous, especially after his recent performances where he took considerable hits against David Avanesyan and Roiman Villa.

Ennis’ promoter, Eddie Hearn, has struggled to secure high-profile fights for the Philadelphia native. Attempts to match him with WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. and Karen Chukhadzhian have fallen through, reportedly due to high financial demands from potential opponents. Conwell may not bring the same fan attention as names like Vergil Ortiz Jr. or Israil Madrimov, but he certainly poses a significant threat in the ring.

While Conwell is ranked #4 by the WBC, his hard-hitting style could expose any defensive vulnerabilities Ennis might have. Some critics believe that Ennis, 27, hasn’t looked as sharp as expected in his last couple of fights. A dangerous opponent like Conwell could be the wrong choice for Ennis as he steps up in weight.

Whether or not this fight materializes, it highlights the difficulties in finding suitable opponents for a rising star like Boots Ennis. Hearn is cautious with matchmaking, and this fight, if accepted, will show whether Ennis can handle the power of bigger fighters in the 154-pound division.

IS CANELO CHARGING FANS TOO MUCH MONEY?

Oscar De La Hoya has openly criticized Canelo Alvarez for charging fans $89.99 for his upcoming fight against Edgar Berlanga on Mexican Independence Weekend, calling the pricing “robbery.” De La Hoya, a former promoter of Canelo, expressed his frustration over what he believes is an inflated price for a fight where Canelo is the heavy favorite. The fight is set for September 14, with Canelo defending his WBA, WBO, and WBC super middleweight titles.

De La Hoya emphasized that fans deserve better value, especially when competing events, such as UFC 306, are scheduled on the same weekend. The UFC event, held at The Sphere in Las Vegas, will be the first combat sports event in that venue and is expected to draw a large crowd. Meanwhile, De La Hoya criticized Canelo’s opponent choice, calling it another “snoozefest” with little excitement.

The ongoing conversation about high PPV prices and the growing influence of Saudi Arabia in boxing has forced fighters like Canelo to reconsider their pricing. Turki Alalshikh, a key figure in Saudi sports, has pushed for global PPV prices under $20, a significant threat to current pricing models. De La Hoya noted that lower prices could force fighters to face better competition, or fans will look for better alternatives.

Canelo, known for demanding high purses, reportedly asked for $200 million to fight David Benavidez, an amount even Saudi promoters were reluctant to meet. The Saudis have reshaped boxing negotiations by offering large guarantees to fighters, which could alter the landscape of boxing promotions in the future.

The rise of Saudi influence and the potential creation of a Saudi Boxing League presents a challenge to the traditional PPV model. With guaranteed purses and a potential shift away from the governing bodies, the way fighters and promoters negotiate could change drastically in the coming years.

IS CRAWFORD’S CAREER OVERRATED AS RYAN GARCIA CLAIMS?

In a bold move, Ryan Garcia has taken aim at Terence Crawford, labeling the undefeated welterweight champion as "overhyped" and "boring." Garcia, known for his explosive style in the ring, criticized Crawford's fighting approach, claiming he fails to entertain fans.

The verbal onslaught came during an interview with the Say Cheese YouTube channel, where Garcia challenged Crawford to face him in the ring if he disputes his claims.

Garcia, with a professional record of 24 wins and 1 loss, questioned Crawford's career achievements, highlighting his belief that Crawford has not faced notable opponents apart from a post-accident Errol Spence. The 26-year-old rising star suggested that a bout between him and Crawford would draw significant pay-per-view attention, contrasting it with Crawford's recent fight against Israil Madrimov that reportedly underperformed on PPV.

The controversy continues as boxing fans await Crawford's response to Garcia's challenge, with implications for the future of both fighters' careers in the spotlight.

HOW MANY FIGHTS DOES JOSHUA HAVE LEFT?

Promoter Eddie Hearn has dismissed any talk of Anthony Joshua nearing retirement, claiming the former heavyweight champion still has "plenty" of fights left. Speaking about Joshua’s recent performances, Hearn emphasized the positive shift in the British boxer’s mindset and his strong partnership with coach Ben Davison.

Hearn stated, “At the moment, plenty. I've never seen him enjoy boxing so much. The preparation, the team. I think he's really found his rhythm with Ben Davison and the camp there." Reflecting on the tough losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Hearn suggested that at one point, people may have thought Joshua only had three to five fights left, but that outlook has changed after four bouts since those defeats.

Joshua’s renewed enthusiasm for the sport is evident in his training and preparation. Hearn highlighted the chemistry between Joshua and his team, noting that they’ve found a rhythm that has revitalized his career. “Now we're saying five more still,” Hearn added, suggesting that Joshua's future is bright, with multiple fights still ahead of him.

The former unified heavyweight champion has had a challenging road following his losses to Usyk, but with recent victories and a strong camp behind him, Hearn believes Joshua is far from finished. Fans can expect to see Joshua continue in the ring for years to come.

As for his next steps, Joshua’s potential fights are still a hot topic, with talks of high-profile bouts against some of the top names in the division. One thing’s for sure: the boxing world will be keeping a close eye on Joshua’s future.

WILL MENTAL STRENGTH GIVE DUBOIS THE EDGE OVER JOSHUA?

Daniel Dubois, the reigning IBF heavyweight champion, is gearing up for the fight of his career against Anthony Joshua on September 21 at Wembley Stadium. The 26-year-old champ is using meditation and visualization to mentally prepare for the clash, focusing on a clear picture of victory. As the date approaches, Dubois remains locked in, emphasizing the importance of mental strength and sharpness in his training camp. This fight is set to be one of the biggest events of the year, with the winner lining up for a potential bout with either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk later this year.

Dubois has made it clear that he’s come a long way since his amateur days, including sparring sessions with Joshua. While rumors have swirled that Dubois once knocked Joshua down during training, the IBF champion brushes them off as irrelevant. "I don’t remember those spars, and even if I did, it wouldn’t matter," Dubois said. "I’m here to fight, not spar."

For Dubois, the pressure of performing in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley won’t be a problem. He acknowledges the role of fear in a fighter’s mindset but sees it as something that can be channeled into his performance. "Fear is good and it’s my friend when I’m in the ring," he confidently stated.

Dubois, who holds a 21-2 record with 20 knockouts, is no stranger to big stages. From his fight with Oleksandr Usyk to claiming the WBA regular heavyweight title, he feels prepared to face the former unified heavyweight king in front of his home crowd. "This fight sells itself, based on me and AJ and what we both bring to the table."

With both fighters eager for victory, the clash at Wembley will undoubtedly be an electrifying spectacle.

IS EDDIE HEARN RIGHT ABOUT MIKE TYSON BEING ‘SHOT TO PIECES’ BEFORE JAKE PAUL FIGHT?

Eddie Hearn didn’t mince words when discussing the upcoming fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium. The Matchroom Boxing promoter, while promoting another fight, expressed his strong disapproval of the match, calling Tyson "shot to pieces" and questioning why the 58-year-old boxing legend is stepping back into the ring.

Hearn, who has been vocal about maintaining the integrity of boxing, believes Tyson should not be fighting again, particularly against a social media influencer like Jake Paul. “Anyone that thinks that Tyson should be in the ring right now either doesn’t have his best interests at heart or is an idiot,” Hearn told the Daily Mail. He further emphasized that Jake Paul, while not a professional boxer, trains hard and poses a real threat.

Mike Tyson, who first won the heavyweight title in 1986, last fought in 2020 in a lackluster exhibition against Roy Jones Jr., ending in a split draw. The fight, originally scheduled for July, was postponed due to Tyson suffering from an ulcer flare-up. This return to the ring has sparked widespread criticism, but it hasn’t stopped the hype surrounding the event.

Hearn acknowledged the commercial appeal of the match but remained firm on his stance. “It’s a big event, I get it. But for someone who idolized the guy growing up, it’s not the best day,” Hearn said. The promoter is no stranger to celebrity-driven boxing events, having organized the 2019 fight between Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul and KSI, but he made it clear he won’t be promoting such fights again.

Tyson vs. Paul will air live on Netflix, promising to draw massive attention, though Hearn hopes it won’t set a dangerous precedent for future boxing events.

DID INOUE FORCE DOHENY TO QUIT?

Japanese boxing superstar Naoya Inoue remained the undisputed world super-bantamweight champion after TJ Doheny was forced to quit in the seventh round due to a back injury. The fight took place in Tokyo on September 3, 2024, with Inoue securing his 28th successive win by technical knockout.

The Irish challenger, Doheny, had shown resilience early on, even landing a powerful punch to Inoue’s body in the third round. However, by the fourth, Inoue's relentless pressure and body work started taking a toll. By the end of the sixth round, Doheny clutched his back in pain, and 16 seconds into the seventh, he dropped to his knee and quit.

While Inoue celebrated the win, it wasn’t the finish he expected. “This fight didn’t end how we expected,” he said through a translator. Inoue praised Doheny for bringing the fight, despite the injury.

This was Inoue's 23rd world title fight, his seventh in a row in Japan, and another step in his legendary career as a four-division world champion. His promoter, Bob Arum, confirmed that Inoue would defend his titles again in Tokyo before fighting in Las Vegas later this year.

Despite the abrupt end, Inoue's dominance in the super-bantamweight division remains clear, solidifying his legacy in front of his home crowd.

WILL USYK RETIRE AFTER FURY AND JOSHUA?

OLEKSANDR USYK, the unified heavyweight champion, has made it clear that he's only interested in facing two opponents: TYSON FURY and ANTHONY JOSHUA. Speaking to Seconds Out, Usyk stated that he has no desire to fight anyone else and believes it’s time for the younger generation to step up. His focus is solely on his rematch with Fury on December 21st, and possibly a third fight with Joshua, assuming Joshua wins his bout against DANIEL DUBOIS on September 21st.

Usyk, who has already achieved tremendous success in his career, including winning an Olympic gold medal and unifying all four world titles at both cruiserweight and heavyweight,

has little left to prove. He expressed that beyond these two fights, nothing else is of interest to him. "From now on, let the youth get fit and work," Usyk said, emphasizing his intent to pass the torch to the next generation of fighters. If Usyk wins these last two bouts and retires, he could join the elite list of boxers who ended their careers unbeaten, with a perfect 24-0 record.

However, both Fury and Joshua have other plans. Fury is determined to avenge his loss, while Joshua remains confident he can finally defeat Usyk in a potential third matchup. As Usyk approaches what might be the final chapter of his career, the boxing world eagerly anticipates whether he can leave the sport with an unblemished record.

CAN HOPKINS' PREDICTION OF CANELO'S DOMINANCE BE TRUE?

BERNARD HOPKINS believes CANEO ALVAREZ is ready to DESTROY EDGAR BERLANGA in their upcoming clash on September 14th. Hopkins, speaking to the media, stated that Berlanga's trash talk has fueled Canelo's intent to deliver a decisive knockout

within six or seven rounds. Initially planning to merely "beat him up," Canelo now aims to leave Berlanga in a bad state at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event, priced at $89.99 on DAZN PPV, promises a high-stakes showdown between the WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion and his #1 WBA mandatory challenger.

Hopkins emphasized that Berlanga's aggressive predictions have escalated tensions, suggesting that the New Yorker's strategy of trash talk aims to boost PPV buys. Despite Berlanga's knockout power, Hopkins remains confident in Canelo's superior skill and experience. "Canelo took that off the table,"

Hopkins remarked, referring to Berlanga's missed opportunity to earn Canelo's mercy by keeping quiet. With both fighters now eager for victory, the stage is set for a memorable showdown in the boxing world.

Will John Fury Step Back to Help Tyson Reclaim His Throne?

As Tyson Fury prepares for his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, former world champion Ricky Hatton is urging a significant change in Fury's corner. Hatton believes that John Fury, Tyson's father, should take a backseat to avoid the confusion that plagued the corner during the first fight in May. The rematch, set for December 21st, comes after Usyk narrowly defeated Fury via split decision, becoming the first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion.

Tyson Fury and two of his brothers to pay nearly £100,000, court rules - Manchester Evening News

The confusion in Fury's corner during the first fight was a major talking point, with SugarHill Steward, Andy Lee, and John Fury all giving instructions, some of which contradicted each other. Hatton, speaking to Action Network, emphasized the need for a single voice during the one-minute breaks between rounds. "I think it’s fantastic to have two people in the corner... but in the one-minute interval, you need to have one speaker," Hatton said.

Despite Hatton's advice, Fury's manager, Spencer Brown, stated that no changes would be made to the corner team. However, he hinted at other adjustments in training. "There'll be some other stuff that he'll be looking at training-wise," Brown said. With the first fight being so close, the pressure is on Fury to make the necessary changes to reclaim his title.

As the rematch approaches, all eyes will be on how Fury's team adjusts their strategy. Will John Fury take a step back to allow Steward to take full control in the corner, or will the same issues arise? One thing is certain: the rematch promises to be another thrilling chapter in heavyweight boxing history.

DID BERLANGA JUST RUIN HIS BEST SHOT AT CANELO?

Kyrone Davis believes Edgar Berlanga may have sabotaged his chances of beating Canelo Alvarez by angering the Mexican superstar with trash talk ahead of their September 14th showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Berlanga's decision to taunt Canelo has, according to Davis, only made the 34-year-old veteran more focused and dangerous.

Berlanga’s lack of experience at the elite level could prove to be his undoing. Despite an unbeaten record, many critics argue that his path to this fight has been paved with easy opponents, designed to build hype rather than genuinely test him. Davis suggests that Berlanga’s management rushed him into this fight, skipping over crucial development opportunities against tougher competition like David Morrell, David Benavidez, or Caleb Plant.

The real question is whether Berlanga can land the one big punch that could change the fight. Davis remains skeptical, citing Canelo's vast ring experience and high boxing IQ as major obstacles for the 27-year-old. Canelo has faced every style imaginable, and even if Berlanga lands a hard shot, Davis believes Canelo’s resilience and ability to adjust will see him through.

Moreover, Berlanga’s insistence that his ring IQ will be the key to victory seems like a hollow argument, especially against someone with Canelo’s experience. For Berlanga, the best strategy might have been to keep Canelo complacent, but the damage is already done. A motivated Canelo, as Davis points out, could mean a short night for Berlanga.

With tensions high and Canelo fired up, Davis predicts a six-round knockout victory for the Mexican champion. Whether Berlanga can defy the odds remains to be seen, but the consensus is that he’s in for the toughest test of his career..

Boxing legend FLOYD MAYWEATHER and rapper TYGA are at the center of a $4 million lawsuit filed by a Miami jeweler. The lawsuit, which was filed by LEONARD SULAYMANOV, the owner of LENZO & CO., accuses the two celebrities of failing to pay for luxury watches and diamond jewelry purchased in 2021.

The lawsuit, filed in a Miami federal court, claims that Mayweather and Tyga violated the RICO Act (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act).
