Why Eric Molina Believes Wilder Will Crush Joshua!
Eric Molina, a rare figure to have faced both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, stands firm on his belief about who would emerge victorious in a long-anticipated clash between the heavyweight giants. Despite negotiations between the two champions falling through, Molina remains confident about the potential outcome if they ever meet in the ring.
While Joshua and Wilder aren't squaring off against each other in their upcoming fights, they still headline a significant card in Saudi Arabia on December 23. Joshua is set to face Otto Wallin, while Wilder is scheduled against Joseph Parker. Reflecting on his own experiences in the ring with both fighters, Molina expressed his conviction that Wilder holds the upper hand, stating in a resurfaced interview with Behind The Gloves that Wilder possesses the ability to knock out Joshua at will.
Molina's perspective stems from his past bouts with the heavyweight champions. Wilder secured a ninth-round stoppage against Molina in 2015, while Joshua managed a third-round stoppage the following year. Molina emphasizes Wilder's unmatched power and believes that until an opponent proves impervious to Wilder's relentless striking, the reigning champion holds the advantage in a potential showdown.
He underlines his prediction, indicating Wilder's capability to secure a victory within three to five rounds against Joshua, should they face off. While both champions have separate challenges ahead, it's widely anticipated that a showdown between Joshua and Wilder could materialize in 2024.
