When Reality Breaks the Narrative: Boxing, Illusions and the Price of Entertainment
Styles make fights’ is one of boxing’s most overused and intellectually lazy clichés. It survives not because it explains anything, but because it offers cover when the analysis fails. Fights are not decided by styles on paper or by pre-fight narratives. They are decided by authority. The fighter who seizes control of the ring, imposes his will, and strips his opponent of options is the one who makes the fight. Everything else is just noise added after the fact.
