Fundora Ready to Showcase Skills Against Tszyu: "I'm Definitely Going To Show What I'm Made Of"
Sebastian Fundora has seized a golden opportunity, stepping up to face Tim Tszyu for the WBO title and the vacant WBC belt on March 30 in Las Vegas, after original opponent Keith Thurman sustained a biceps injury. The 26-year-old southpaw, known as the "Towering Inferno" standing at 6ft 5ins, eagerly accepted the chance to headline the card, upgrading from his initial matchup against Serhii Bohachuk. Fundora's decision stemmed from his belief in his ability and the significance of facing Tszyu, whom he regards as one of the best at 154 lbs. "My promoter called us up and said this guy has an injury, if you guys are willing to save the fight card, you have the chance, and of course my first reaction was yes," Fundora explained. Having suffered his only loss to Brian Mendoza, whom Tszyu also faced, Fundora is determined to avenge his defeat and claim championship glory. "I’m just happy. I’m excited for this opportunity and I’m definitely going to show what I’m made of," Fundora affirmed. Acknowledging the challenges Tszyu presents, Fundora remains confident, having prepared meticulously for the bout. "We’ve been training for a hard fight, this one as well is another hard fight, but you know it’s time. I think it’s time to become world champion," he expressed. With aspirations to join his sister Gabriela, IBF flyweight champion, as a world titleholder, Fundora is poised to make a statement at the T-Mobile Arena.
