FightersTalkTV.com – After a long-running online feud, the bout between Tommy Fury and The YouTuber, Jake Paul, is finally set to meet on August 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The pair were originally due to clash last year before Fury, the brother of world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, pulled out through illness and injury. But now, after months of trash talk, the date and venue have been announced – with Paul sharing the headline spot with seven-weight world champion Amanda Serrano in New York. Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) said on his tweet: “Okay people he grew a set overnight. “It’s official, I’m taking this little Fury’s head off. “Amanda Serrano and I dual main-event at the Mecca of boxing. “Official press conference and ticket on-sale this Wednesday June 29th at 11AM. #PaulFury.” “I wasn’t sure I was going to say yes to another potential matchup against Tommy after he pulled out of our matchup last year,” said Paul. “But ultimately, knocking out a Fury was too appealing to pass up. I’ve proven I am dedicated to boxing in and out of the ring, from promoting fights, championing fighters and fighter pay, to knocking out my opponents. The Furys cannot say the same, they are selfish tossers. On Aug. 6, the world will see why I am on my way to being a world champion. I’m honored to fight under the same lights as some of the greatest professional boxers in history.” Paul will compete in his sixth professional boxing fight. The Love Island’s star, Tommy Fury (8-0, 4 KOs), has confirmed the Paul’s challenge and signed the contract on Thursday (June 23). He said in an Instagram video: “Just to let you all know, the fight on August 6 is going ahead. “The contract has been signed after weeks and weeks of waiting for Jake Paul to sign up to the drugs testing and potentially putting the fight at risk, he’s finally signed up to the drugs testing. “We’ve agreed a contract that we’re happy with, so the fight is going ahead and I’ll see you August 6.” “The Paul brothers’ boxing charade is about to come to an end once and for all,” Fury said. “I am a boxer. My opponent plays boxing. Jake Paul has been dressed up to look like a boxer against retirees from other sports. Fury (right) is the slight favorite going into the fight. “I will show the world that he does not belong in the ring. I look forward to headlining Madison Square Garden and knocking out this clown.” American Paul has a record of five wins as a professional, against fellow social media star AnEsonGib, ex-NBA basketballer Nate Robinson and mixed martial arts fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.
