Arnold Barboza Jr. Finds Home at Golden Boy, Eyes World Title Shot

Arnold Barboza Jr., the undefeated junior welterweight contender, is thrilled with his decision to join Golden Boy Promotions, affirming that it's where he truly belongs. The Los Angeles-based outfit, led by boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya, resonated with Barboza, especially being an LA native himself. He expressed confidence in Golden Boy's support, highlighting the necessity of a promoter firmly backing him in his career. After securing his release from Top Rank last July, Barboza's last fight was a ten-round unanimous decision victory against former two-division titlist Jose Pedraza in February. Parting ways with Top Rank came after missing out on an IBF title eliminator against Liam Paro and discussions for another eliminator versus Jose Ramirez, both managed by Rick Mirigian. Feeling overlooked, Barboza sought a promoter who prioritized his career—a need he believes Golden Boy fulfills. Set to make his Golden Boy debut on January 6 during a DAZN show headlined by Vergil Ortiz Jr., Barboza is optimistic about the future. With his eyes set on a world title shot, he anticipates significant strides in 2024, seeking to make a mark under his new banner. Barboza's anticipation for his debut under Golden Boy's banner reflects his belief in the opportunities that lie ahead. His desire for a world title shot is palpable, signaling a strong determination to ascend in the junior welterweight division. #ArnoldBarbozaJr #GoldenBoyPromotions #Boxing #WorldTitleShot #BoxingNews #VergilOrtizJr #OscarDeLaHoya
