UK Anti-Doping Accepts Conor Benn's Return, Leaving WADA's Decision Looming
UK Anti-Doping has made a decision not to challenge Conor Benn's return to the boxing ring, clearing the way for his anticipated comeback. Recent rumors have linked Benn to potential fights with Chris Eubank Jnr and WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in early 2025. Despite the possibility of a WADA appeal, Benn seems closer to resuming his career after UKAD chose not to pursue further action with the NADP.
In a statement, UKAD confirmed their stance: "UKAD has completed its review of the decision of the independent National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) concerning professional boxer Mr. Conor Benn. Following the expiry of UKAD's appeal deadline, we can confirm that UKAD has decided not to file an appeal with the National Anti-Doping Panel. As with all anti-doping cases, WADA retains the right to appeal within an extended deadline."
Benn's supporters can now look forward to seeing him back in the ring, as he overcomes this latest hurdle on his path to returning to professional boxing.
