GILBERTO 'ZURDO' RAMIREZ READY TO UNIFY TITLES AGAINST CHRIS BILLAM-SMITH – WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP?
Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez is set to defend his WBA cruiserweight world title and unify the division against WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith on November 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This high-stakes clash is the headline bout of the ‘Latino Night’ event, which is part of the Riyadh Season. Ramirez (46-1-0, 30 KOs) is looking forward to becoming the unified champion in the cruiserweight division. He believes this is his moment to shine on the global stage, saying, "It’s been a long time coming, and I’m looking forward to becoming the unified champion."

This fight marks Zurdo’s first title defense since winning the WBA belt in March, when he outpointed Arsen Goulamirian. As the first Mexican to win world titles in both the 168lb and 200lb divisions, Ramirez is eager to represent his country and bring his culture to the global spotlight in Saudi Arabia.

On the other side, Chris Billam-Smith (20-1-0, 13 KOs) enters the bout with confidence after successfully defending his WBO title twice. He first defeated Lawrence Okolie to win the belt in May 2023 and retained it against Mateusz Masternak. Billam-Smith’s only defeat came in 2019, but he avenged that loss by outpointing Richard Riakporhe in June.

With both champions coming off strong performances, this unification bout promises to be a thrilling contest. The event will also feature a co-main event between lightweight contender William Zepeda and former champion Tevin Farmer, along with other exciting matchups.
