ANTHONY JOSHUA BREAKS SILENCE ON DUBOIS SPAR – WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

Anthony Joshua has finally addressed the infamous sparring session with Daniel Dubois, a story that has resurfaced as the two prepare to face off in the ring on September 21 at Wembley Stadium. The sparring session, which took place in 2016, has been the subject of rumors for years, with claims that Dubois, just 18 at the time, nearly knocked out Joshua, a two-time unified heavyweight champion.

In the lead-up to the fight, former professional boxer Anthony Fowler shared his account of the spar, stating that Dubois hurt Joshua badly but didn’t knock him down. Fowler said, "Dubois hit him hard, and Joshua's legs were like jelly. He could have finished him, but there was too much respect." Despite these claims, Joshua recently denied the knockout rumors, saying, "He just cracked me with a good shot. I stood on my feet. I don’t know where this whole narrative came from."

Both fighters are entering this bout in top form. Dubois is coming off two stoppage wins after his loss to Oleksandr Usyk and is determined to make his mark in the British heavyweight scene. "AJ’s been the king for a long time. On the night, I need to become the king slayer," said Dubois, who is hungry to dethrone Joshua.

Meanwhile, Joshua is on a four-fight win streak, including a knockout of former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. When asked about Dubois’ chances, Joshua confidently stated, "I won’t let it happen. Whether it’s sparring or fighting, no one’s going to knock me out."

This heavyweight showdown on September 21 promises to settle the score once and for all, with both men eager to prove who the better fighter is.
