"Floyd Schofield Steps Up to Deputy for William Zepeda in Showdown with Shakur Stevenson"

Floyd Schofield and Shakur Stevenson are stirring up excitement on social media with talks of a potential showdown in the ring.

Stevenson, on the mend from a hand injury, was gearing up for a bout with William Zepeda on February 22. However, Zepeda suffered a hand injury in his recent fight with Tevin Farmer, opening the door for Schofield to step in and challenge Stevenson.

Reaching out to his promoter at Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, Schofield boldly stated: "Oscar De La Hoya, please set up the fight with @shakurstevenson. Just imagine when we emerge victorious! This will be a walk in the park for KID. He won't have the power to handle us. All it takes is belief, and you'll witness greatness unfold."

In response, Stevenson quipped: "Bro, why are you pleading with your promoter? Give him a call and make it happen. Social media antics won't seal the deal! Do you guys not have direct contact with them? I've already given you the contact person for Oscar to reach out. Let's get this show on the road."

Stevenson, backed by Matchroom and Eddie Hearn, who often clash with De La Hoya's Golden Boy, further teased: "Little do you know, Oscar has already informed this guy that he's not up to the challenge. They're brushing off this situation because they know it's just for show. I told Eddie, let's see what these guys are made of, but ultimately, it's up to Oscar to approve his fighter to face us."

Newark's southpaw sensation Stevenson, aged 27, boasts an impressive record of 22-0 (10 KOs) as the WBC lightweight champion. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old rising star from Austin, Texas, Schofield, holds a perfect 18-0 record with 12 knockouts to his name.
